@ bider

Good Spot, I had only scanned that review. However I am intrigued by the fact that the table that you linked to also shows that the software installed has a big effect, ie. Opera Mobile 9.7 allows the HD2 to enjoy full multitap oom functionality as per iPhone 3GS, whereas neither Opera Mini 4.2 nor IE Mobile 6 do.

As such I am quite hopeful that the X10 will support it eventually, whether that comes with the OS upgrade or via a 3rd Party App.

In any case for me whilst the pinch zoom would be a nice feature, it is not a deal-breaker, I still feel that as a genuine convergence device the X10 offers the best blend of features for me. I love the cam on my C905 and everything else in the X10 seems like progress to me.. I am also encouraged by this remark from the GSM Arena review we have been discussing, which refers to the native 1.6 browser running on the X10:

"Instead of a minimap, there’s a page overview with a small window that you can drag around – the content inside is magnified so you can actually read the text. This is the best method to navigate large sites that we’ve seen so far.

The default browser scored highly in our test, Flash support is the only serious omission."

here's a comparison chart from gsmarena: http://pic.gsmarena.com/vv/re[....]otout/camera/browser-chart.gif - Unfortunately no pinch-to-zoom on X10

A tad confusing. Pinch-to-zoom is not listed as zoom method for Dolphin, but further down it says gestures are supported and pinch-to-zoom is one of them according to the previous text. Does this men all guestures except pinch-to-zoom works ?

Hmm, waaaay too expensive. Did they mention if that was the North American version by chance?

wow! that's insanely expensive. looks to about $200 more than what other retailers are posting right now. I guess that's the price you pay for early adoption?

The japanese video is inspiring.

@Boinng...

Updating during idle but obviously at predetermined intervals as per the user. Obviously not constant polling.

You can see this feature in action around 2:35 in the Japanese Youtube demo Epicurus posted previously.

GSM Arena now updated the article:
"Feature wise, it adds tabs on top of the page for easy switching between multiple pages. Gestures are enabled too, including the lauded pinch zoom (though you have to root the phone to enable multitouch)."

Several swedish sites have set their release date to the 28th too, is it just old info?

Well we won't have a TRUE North American version, the Euro version wil work with Tmobile USA but not AT&T, while the "NA" version will work with AT&T but not Tmobile USA. I assume they will have the Euro version (which is what I want since I have Tmobile) since the NA versions are always at LEAST 3-4 months late to the party.

And when I say work I mean re: 3G, all versions should work in NA otherwise.
