well either the phones will be announced at 3gsm, or they have been pushed back because are too unstable.... though i was told sofia is fairly stable right now during network testing.,... most phones are ready to be produced, though some may not be stable enough, so again may not be announced....or the person in is just wrong and the phones were never planned to be announced at 3gsm ill try and get some confirmation from this person.
we'll see what happens in a few days

Now again is Sofia the first to have the new UI, if so a delay might be understandable but if it isn't then there really shouldn't be much to cause a delay.

3gsm and cebit may just be to show off the new fones they announced this week, why steal the thunder away from one of your most anticiapted phones, personally i would like to see something that blows us all away like axxxr's info a lil more up to dat with a screen that covers 16.7mil colors for that 5mp sensor ... yea i said it.

if there is anything new it'll be shown monday, apparently 'Sofia' (K850i) & the first European Bravia Handset will be shown (according to rumours on other forums), but after today I'm sceptical at best...

I posted a news article about Bravia handsets. I'll try and find it and see what it says exactly.

EDIT:Here

"Sony Ericsson insiders notified Mobile Phone Helpdesk that the first Bravia phones for the European market will probably be introduced at the 3GSM Congress in Barcelona. The product sales will go along with the rollout of DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting - Handheld) networks in Europe. This enables to watch crystal-clear television material on the mobile phone. "

Are you kidding me?
The reason that SE HAS to come up w/ something new is quite obvious.
N95
I know a lot of people waiting for SE to come up w/ something on par, most of those won't wait anymore if SE doesn't announce anything soon.[note: 2 months =/= soon]

And now, it even seems that the n77 could be the heir of n73, which would take away even more possible buyers from waiting for Sofia...

too early for Bravia afaik... Or is it.....

from 3GSM page:

" 2007 will also be an important year for , as we unveil a total of 16 new products, including phones, pc cards and accessories. At our exhibition stand you will have the opportunity to get hands-on with the latest editions to the and cybershot phone families"

theres a total of 20 new products on that site which have been announced already, definately more than 16 there, so i think when say this as above, the 16 products they mention are ones we havent seen yet...

So i take it like this.... these 20 products will be there for people to get hands on with, but will also announce another 16 new products

@jedi-master

When you counted, did you - for example - take the K550i and K550c as being two separate products? Maybe didn't?

from what I know, SE claimed that they have to see how the European market receive LG and Samsung DMB handsets first before deciding on when to launch. They're seeing Sharp as a bigger competitor in this area.

but things are already in the design pool and the technology is already there.

concerning the "new UI", take note that the software is the last thing to be put onto a phone, it is also the last thing to be finalized, so prototypes can have multiple versions that are very different in software

afaik Bravia will come towards end of the year. like xumdeo said, may want to see how lg and samsung go... and dvbh isnt a common thing in Europe yet...

and handycam series is dead as ive been told, but its features, ie, high quality video, will be incorporated into a cybershot device or another series....

@goldenface

look at the site my internet is stuffed
