oh the canon sd series and the ixus range are the exact same, its called sd200/300/400/500 in north america and ixus 30/40/50 etc etc in asia. yes the canon ixus series are far better than the sony cybershot, u can google it and find sample images. i like the small size of the canon too.

why do u need a 7mpx cam??r u going to use it for professional photography??
i think 4-5 mpx is nore than adequate.
also check the compression ratio of the pictures,check the battery type and life(cams r big power eaters),the externl storage device(card) and their price...in caase u might want to buy more cards.

nikon ones r knw for their color reproduction. i will stay away frm kodak and konica ones. sony has some sleek ones...

go with the canon ixus series, trust me u wont be disappointed
their 3.2 mp one is pretty good and it costs bout $200 USD here.
