I had a 5 minute play with Arc this morning. It felt solid, smooth UI and a stunning screen
The girl who owns it comes from a cheap Samsung clamshell. She's amazed every time she touches Arc

It is as solid as a plastic phone can get. Much better all other plastic phones I ever used. I like it alot. Ive been using mine now for 2 weeks and it just keeps gettin better and better.

Little update on the battery issue. Ever since switchin back to the stock launcher, battery life is quite good. Not overwhelming but manageable.
Avoid the Launcher Pro!

You guys are just making it worse for me and my crappy Curve!

Havent had a phone this rubbish since I was last between jobs and had to get myself a temporary phone which was some Nokia twenty quid jobby!

Seriously tempted to just go out and get one on contract and just whack my work sim in it!

Got my Arc this morning. I was sceptical but this really is a big improvement over the X10. Screen is incredible, so vibrant, and looks so like the AMOLED screens Samsung use.

Speed and fluidity of the OS is much better than X10.

Few first niggles; very easy to press the bottom of the screen when trying to press the button, have to be careful. Also the LED light on the side isn't that easy to see compared to the X10.

Anyone notice the stock calendar doesn't seem to display all day events in the 'month view', you can see them in agenda but not highlighted on the month view.

I miss not having the integrated timescape widget on the main screen, with the Arc at present you can only have either FB, Twitter, Messages not a combination of both, which seems a little strange. I liked the X10 widget which basically showed everything (email, FB, messages, etc).

Also miss the web thumbnail widget on the X10 which gave you the three pains showing 'most visited' and 'recently visited' weblinks, that was handy but I think they've removed it in Gingerbread.

Haven't had a good indication of battery life as I've hammered it today what with setting everything up.

Exactly! It may be plastic, but it is very good quality. The chassis is solid!

As usual I must have had a shitty one cos mine was terrible. The whole casing would creak if clutched & battery door was not a good fit.I could feel quite a bit of give underneath the battery door where I could tap it & hear it knock the battery
