Do you guys know something the rest of us don't or are you just upset that the low level facebook PR stunt didn't present you what you want?
I don't think many of us had our hopes very high on this fast forward announcement, the signs were all there that it was going to be low-key.
History tells us that when they have a proper/flagship announcement there are press invites and a physical event in advance, not a countdown that changes every minute on facebook.
Rubenos (and others) have already shown that there is such an event coming up which looks like the real deal to me.
Keep your pants on.

totally agree...i love sony and their phones, been using the xperia s for a while now and loving every second of it. but i can't stand how people hype themselves up over something that is out of their control only to criticise the company for not being up to their personal standards.
mint phone in the bond movie would be awesome. but where did u get this bit of info from? when is the movie being released?

Skyfall is due out November 9th. If I were personally in Sonys shoes, I'd want the Bond phone to already be on the market just before the movie releases so that people see it, get excited by it, look it up and PRESTO! Kickass Bond phone ready to buy. Why just before the movie launch and not months prior? Well if the phone has already been out for a couple of months, people will already be familiar with it for the most part and it won't seem as "special". If the phone is launched JUST prior to the movie relasing, they could ride a wave of hype over it. Then again, more time wasted holding off on the phone means the hardware is getting older and older... unless of course they're shooting very high with the Mint.
As a fan though, I would wish Mint to be out as early as possible... unless of course they ARE aiming high to integrate hardware they're waiting on to be ready... or Jellybean or something.
I guess we can assume Mint will have a very sophisticated appearance and appear almost futuristic if it's supposed to be worthy of Bond. My guess is brushed aluminum finish, and at some point in the movie Bond will use the quick sleep-to-snap function of the camera to take a pic of some bad guys in a hurry or something

Damn straight! Personally I'm asking for 8 cores, the camera sensor found in the Hubble Space Telescope, 100 watt video spotlight, and a petabyte of memory... gotta make sure my porn collection remains mobile
Heh, I will say that if this event is just about phones we've already heard about, then why would Sony go through all the trouble? I mean, you've already announced those phones, why hype people up just to announce them again? I really do hope that we get at least 1 nice mid-high end device rather than the low end stuff we've gotten lately. At least that would give this event a reason for existing.

and that was on Q1 2012 when most of the devices are 2011
phones.. Also, I wonder what happened to HTC? I think Sony's marketshare is bound to increase further this quarter because of their myriad 2012 and 2011 xperias
