Haha, it's all good...
Tsepz
Well it's still good, I actually realized that I don't do much with it, take pics, facebook, sms & calls, radio & music and that's about it. So it's pretty aduaqate seeing that i don't require alot from it. I still like the N8 though... But I smaak that huge x10 screen...

Ye OMAP would be better, I wish they had used that as its incredible at graphics acceleration, the Snapdragon handles them pretty well though ,games are at PSP quality, downloaded quite a lot, they range from 2mb to over 50mb.
Gola
That's really good then as long as it suits your needs that's what matters

. Really like the N8 to but after I had given it much thought and coupled with my experience on the 5800 I realised that Symbian is no longer suited for me especially for web browsing and social networking.
Lol,sweet pic!

who's X10? got the same cover I got, can't decide whether to keep it on though as it kinda kills the look of the phone.

I have no idea Hobbs, im so tempted to flash it, I'll wait another week then try find a tutorial for flashing it. By the way have you tried SwiftKey? Far better than the built-in keyboards

had an issue with the space key on the others, everything seemd to be well placed in this one though, are you using any Task killer on yours? If you are give System Panel a try it allows grouped killing of tasks e.g inactive tasks, very useful.

Tsepz and Hobbs:
Guys, I can highly recommend flashing and rooting on the X10. I debranded to the O2 German firmware for a bit then to the R2BA023 generic rooted which is great. It's like I have a different phone now.....
Just shout if you need any pointers on how to do it.
I have also tried just about every bit of software that has been recommended on different forums so I can give you tips on which app is best for "xyz" if you need any tips. I am a huge X10 fan, the only issue for me is the in-call volume (which is getting better with newer firmware) and my battery which sometimes overheats and kills the phone. I have noticed some film of liquid underneath the battery which might have been battery acid or just condensation.....I am hoping it is the latter!

Hi Rob
Lol glad to have another X10 user here, would you be able to link me to the tutorial you used to debrand and root your X10?

See this thread under "Development" for the instructions: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711907)
I would spend some time reading this thread as there is plenty to learn and although the info is now a bit clearer it was easy to go wrong in the beginning if you don't know what you are doing. The nice thing is that you can't "brick" your phone (keep a copy of your ORIGINAL firmware in case you need to have your phone serviced - instructions are all there).
Good luck - let me know how it goes.
As far as software is concerned here are some must-haves :
Titanium backup (root only - you will have to reinstall all apps after rooting but after installing this you will get your phone back to it's original state in minutes when flashing new ROMs in the future, and it fixes the market links for everything you have downloaded.)
ADW - Home screen replacement (beats all others out there)
Taskpanel X
Beautiful Widgets
Handcent SMS (beats all others out there)
aTAKEphONE
Setting Profiles - simply amazing!
ES FileExplorer and ASTRO
APN Droid (if you don't want hectic data bills....)
Some fun stuff:
Bubble - Spirit Level (Ben Zibble)
Google Sky Map - Wow....
Metal Detector - I thought this was a gimmick.....NOT
Battery Indicator Pro
Compass (Snaptic)
We don't have access to the "Paid Apps" Market by default, but this can be fixed after rooting....
Also, when you have rooted, let me know and I will point you towards a great site where "everything is free"
