Sony Ericsson are going to be making Windows Phone 7 phones anyway. Sony Ericsson are listed as one of the OEMs that will be launching WM7 this year, so I don't see how the are going to be behind everyone else. I bet many people here would love to get a WM7 SE phone, I know I'm one of them. But that's all not till the end of the year. Back to the X10, I really can't wait for it. Most of the phones being shown at MWC are just more of the same. All the new Android phones are just Nexus Ones in a different cases. It's only SE and HTC that are really doing something different on that platform. Just makes me want the X10 even more.

Thanks to a few of you guys who have endeavoured to bring this thread back on-topic, it's so much more interesting than the bickering about who is going to pay for your next phone.

However I should also thank sealover really for reinforcing some of the points that I made in my last post.

The X10 is a Hardware match for anything out yet, or really soon. In fact you could go so far as to say any confirmed phone really. The Dell that you brought up is seen by Crave and other sites as being more of a Tablet than a phone because of it's size. It still only has a 5.0MP camera and if you love the design as you say on P115 than that's great, I much prefer the X10's form.

As for UI, as I have said I find the UI of my C905 very good ad particularly the camera, not surprising as it is Cybershot branded. However as well as sharing the 8.1MP HW the X10 seems to have many of the hot-keys that make the camera so easy to use built in to the touch screen OS, even tho it's not Cybershot branded.

Lastly with regards the Mini5:- 1: Dell are IMO like Microsoft themselves successful because of the Ubiquity and pricing of their products rather than the quality. As such most offices I have ever worked in run Dell and I can't find much to recommend them. They are at best adequate, but that's all they have to be for workaday stuff; 2: Windows mobile is an OS that in my experience most owners tolerate because of the easier syncing with MS products. None of my friends that have had it have enjoyed or recommended it. In most cases their WM devices have been good in-spite of rather than because of the WM OS, a point backed up by Jon Bentley on last nights gadget show when dealing with the HD2.

Is sealover suggesting that the new iPhone will be out by Q2? I would be interested to see if the HW specs are a closer match to the opposition. However I doubt that it will be either out by Q2, or have the HW that X10 and similar phones are offering.

I conclusion the X10 remains the only confirmed phone with all of the HW features that I want and running the OS I want. As has been covered, I thought Ad-Nauseum, in this thread many of the differences between A1.6 and A2.0 or 2.1 are covered by the UX, or can be addressed by 3rd party apps.

@ drinki spot on mate, this should be about discussion rather than bitching, to increase all of our knowledge about what is out there, or ill be soon. Most of us writing aren't lucky enough to handle the prototypes or see the Press briefs directly, so those of you who have that privilege, please use it to inform, rather than abusing to aggravate.
OT Sorry :For those of you ld enough to remember I am minded of the Monty Python sketch about an Argument....

Let's all pick our game up and talk in facts rather than snipes -or just "Quit your bitching!"

even though WP7 seems kinda awesome, i don't accept quite well that SE is advancing in any way. for me it looks like they are trying to get back some market share, but they are doing what HTC and lotsa others have done.. ofer windows phones and android phones.

what's new now? the advent of the 'mini' phones.

we'll just have to wait for the industry to shock us again (this quarter's shocker was WP7)

In a year from now Sonyericsson will no longer exist...
I was a loyal fan of the company since t68i and p800 (i owned both of them) and a fan of Ericsson since GA628(i owned that too). Many of you were unborn back then...
I am so sad about this situation.X10 has an incredible design but it won't be a hit!Not the way p800 did or iphone nowdays...

Sorry but this is the truth.

Whilst I yern for the days when Sony Ericsson were innovative market leaders

Given the appalling figures Sony Ericsson have returned in the last couple of years, and the lack of any winning handsets recently I believe Sony Ericsson have little choice other than to follow the lead of companies that seem to have a better grasp of the needs of the market.
