I'm a little bit late, congrats on your Z1 moogoo, HHT pic looks much sharper than night mode, and thanks for sharing some more samples. Screen you got was great.

Seems a firmware update is all that is needed to fine tune the camera, imo camera gives good results although very far from its potential yet.

It would be nice for the days of camera mods to come back, just like in the days of k800/c901/c905 lots of custom camera drivers

if you want to test for blur take it outside and shoot a landscape, not a macro...

@cu015170 - i did. i was just trying all different sorts of things to recreate what MNX was experiencing. Seems his issue is beyond anything i could recreate.

@reeflotz - i haven't looked too deep into android programming but the quick look i gave the camera API, it didn't look like you could really mod the processing algorithms. that being said, sony has released their code.. so perhaps there is a way. not that i'm even an expert in creating a image processing engine.. but if it's possible, hopefully someone out there who knows their stuff can take advantage of the open source libraries and the Z1

Well if something ever happens to the camera firmware update and is not released (hoping it does not), I'm hoping it will at least get leaked and there will be an unofficial way to install it, modding has most of the time been the best solution to get whatever you want

SMC Lund should just leak it. It'll generate a lot of attention from everyone saying how it's way better. Japan will be forced to give in.

If the software division is one day to be moved to Japan, then I hope another company with great design, build quality and all-round elegance - hardware and software emerge with Ubuntu in a few years.

According to this post on XDA the Xperia Z1 is using an AMVA panel.

I don't know much about panels but are the AMVA's supposed to be any good?

Technology from AU Optronics, Taiwan. If I remember it correctly though.
