Dups!
Another update to Firefox Beta was released yesterday, its getting better, pages are loading faststill jerky and slow through its UI but they have said they have said that they will be adding support for Hardware Acceleration in future releases for a more fluid and faster UI, that should bring some great performance boosts all over, so its definetly getting better, this browser has alot of potential, and thanks to the name it will be a major competitor to Dolphin HD, Skyfire, and the Android Browser itself.

Have you tried out Dolphin Browser HD? Fantastic browser, im actualy not sure of which i prefer between the built-in browser and Dolphin HD, they are similar in functionality, Dolphin is actualy based on the built-in browser but its faster and with a tweaked UI.

Thanks for the update on the browser Tsepz_GP!
I'm glad you think the mobile version has potential cause I'm likely to use it as my main browser when I upgrade. Hardware acceleration is the way forward- just look at how the Iphone runs to see how important it is.

HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY SAMD!

Taken from GSMArena:

'Google's Android platform turns 3, Gingerbread due on 11 November

The Android platform was born on this day three years ago, on 5 November 2007, and the first device based on the platform was introduced nearly one year later, on 22 October when the T-Mobile G1 saw daylight for the first time.

However, the story began back in 2005 when Google acquired the Android Inc. Then, it was only a matter of time for the Android platform to show up. Now, a few years later, this is one of the fastest developing operating systems.

The Android OS hasn't stop improving since Day One. Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo… Those are all sweets but at the same time these are the names of the numerous Android updates released over the years. And rumor is the next one, Android 2.3 a.k.a. Gingerbread, is about to be launched in a week, on 11 November.

As for the applications compatible with the Android platform, currently, there are more than 100 000 apps over at the Android Market and their number is continuing growing and growing.

Currently, we have 141 Android handset in our database and those are not all phones available worldwide as as we don't list all CDMA handsets.'

Yeah Wangs.Android is exploding.Gingerbread unfortunitely (I could be wrong) needs 512MB of RAM (think this X10 only has 384MB) so the chances of us getting that on our X10's are slim. But like I said,I could be wrong.
Im pretty pleased with my Eclair 2.1 on the X10.The boys at XDA seem to be slooowly progressing on working on cracking the X10's bootloader and hopefully once they've done it Tsepz and I can progress onto Fro-yo before SE comes to the party.
Froyo for us X10 users is the big one.I don't think we are looking beyond that.

I'll give both those a try Hobbs, thanks a lot.
Have you tried LauncherPro? Ive dumped ADW Launcher for it, its a bit more customizable but also a lot better performance wise than ADW, it doesnt seem to be clashing with anything.
I hope we do get Froyo, Rikard at the SE Product Blog did say the 2.1x update for the UXP UI may also be a OS update to 2.2, we'll have to wait and see, 2.1.has brought out alot in the X10 but Froyo with its JIT Compiler is what will completely unleash it, this phone still has alot in it, i did the Quadrant benchmark now on 2.1 and got 550, it's higher than the NexusOne and Desire on 2.1, clearly SE's engineers know how to get the best out the Snapdragon CPU.
