I've followed the instructions in the update application and removed the sim, reinserted the battery, and pressed the c key. Nothing seems to happen. I also tried restarting with the c key pressed and nothing happened. what am I missing here. I have tried this with the phone plugged and unplugged from the computer.

Also the "UpdateService_Inst_2.6.4.9.exe" application doesn't list the P990 as one of the supported phones on the download page. But this seems to be the software everyone seems to be using to update their phone.

I know how you feel! Have a good sleep and then lots of play with the P990 tomorrow.

BootCamp is a free emulator available on the web site for mac users who wants to run windows on their apple macintosh. Since its not relevant to this thread I shall not eloborate much.

Well, I tried to update the FW using BootCamp on my intel iMac, but it doesn't work.

Every time I try to launch the updater program it tells me I have an "Incompatible Macromedia version"!

Could an error message be more cryptic?

Since when is Macromedia a product? I suppose they mean Flash, so what version? I installed the newest Flash version, but that didn't help.

Now I'm stumped.

Syncing with the Mac: no go!
Updating using Windows: no go!

Just found out what caused the problem: I always use Firefox when i'm in Windows.

After installing Flash using IE the updater works.
