Just one idea :

Don't you think that it would be a good idea if we could modify/rename the FIELD names in the contacts.. ??????

Imagine this : You have a contact and he has three numbers
a) his room number
b) his livingroom number
c) his kitchen number

I wish to be able to modifiy/rename the field names so that I can write "room" and "livingroom" etc. in the fields rather than just phone (w) or (h). Because imagine I have to call him from his room number and I don't want to call him from the livingroom number.

Another example :Imagine a company "SYSTEMS LTD" I usualy call and there are 4 person I usually speak to. (all have different numbers )
a) Ric
b) Suzan
c) Sam
d) Dennis

I want to creat a contacts entry as SYSTEMS LTD, and I want to rename the phone field names as the these names above and enter each ersons number into the renamed fields.

If I can modify the field names , I wont have to open 3 different contacts entries for the first example and I won't have to create 4 different contact entries for the 2nd. example.

If I can rename the field names, I won't have to guess and play lottery to hope that the number I'm dialling is the correct person/number that I want to call. So I don't want to end up calling Dennis instead of Ric, or I don't want to call a friend from his kitchen where as I want to call him from his room.

Do you get my point ????

I'M %100 sure, SE has SPIES on this and other forums and they are reading our postings. So SE why don't you let us rename field names in contacts. And we look forward the latest FW release preferably a BUG FREE version this time..........

OK... So I took my P990 to a SE Authorised repair centre to upgrade the firmware, and there is no change in the firmware version and still has the Vodafone customisations on it.

I'm going to start pulling my hair out soon if there is no firmware update via SEUS!

Argghh

I have kicked up a fuss with my cell provider Vodafone UK, and asked them why they have sent me a 'butchered' phone, i.e. one they have screwed with.

Tomorrow I will take it to them and they will send it to SE. who will load a proper SE Firmware onto it, then hopefully I can use the UpdateService app for future bug fixes.

Thanks for all your help though.

Dan

UIQ3.0 does this when it's running out of memory. Try closing any unnecessary apps that might be running in the background using Task Manager or better yet install swissmanager and let it close them for you.

Hope this helps

In order to do a multiple delete of messages you have to restart the phone as the delete option is not there otherwise. (ie the phone has been on for a while).

strange one.

Try starting the Messaging app in FO mode in the future. If already running then close and re-open in FO mode

Can you count this as a BUG ?

Flęp OFF mode, press contacts and the contacts open .

You can not enter any letters by STYLUS you can only scroll down using Stylus, ( the small keyboard sign does not appear at the bottom of the screen), therefore when you are on letter "A", to go to let's say; to letter "Y" you are forced to use keyboard to jump to desired persons First letter
Or you can scroll down with stylus or the jog dial which will take too much time if you have too many contacts.

The keyboard sign should be lit and available for stylus purposes but it's not there.

I wouldn't count that as a bug. To use the keyboard is just as easy or even so than the virtuely keyboard.

you dont have to restart the phone. just terminate the program with task manager and then restart the application and then you will find the delete
option

this is still a bug

@Osmano
After getting used to FC mode since P800-P900-P910 , I finally decided that I will try to get used to P990 with flip Off mode. So far I'm quite used to the phone and the shortcuts. I can almost use my P990 fully with one hand

But sometimes using the stylus can be more useful and faster. If I have the Stylus in my hand, I can not understand why should I press the keyboard rather than using the virtual keyboard. Beause when the Stylus is in your right hand, it's little hard to use the keyboard with your right fingers

I think as a logic, the virtual keyboard should be there.......
