i was owned n73me earlier this year and only what i can do with n73me camera is over painted pics on photo paper at the same time pics taken with k800 was looks more naturaly that's all

I really don't mind that Plank loves his phone. Good for him and I'm glad he does. But I and others are getting a little tired of him proclaiming how good the images of the K850 are and only showing shrunken down versions of his photos. If he didn't openly criticise the quality of photo's from other camera's I probably wouldn't care - but he does so it is fair to retort and ask for proof. I'm not saying either phone is really better than the other but if Plank is going to make such strong statements he should back it up with more than doctored evidence. Forums are supposed to be fair and honest. Plank is not being fair, is showing heavy bias and is failing to deliver on past promises to provide proof - So far he has only posted one full size image and made it quite clear he used digital zoom which would cover for any imperfections in the image. If his images are really that good he could almost put the N95/K850 debate to rest by posting full res proof. I still don't know why he won't. There can only be one reason - they aren't that good. The opportunity to shut me up is there - post real proof, the majority of us will be honest if they are good – I assure you I will be.

I know some are tired of this but I think more of us are tired of seeing the continuing deception of people (not just plank) who post small images. It's a debate and people can argue their point all they like. If you don't like this don't join in.

People actually read these forums when looking at buying a new phone. I think it is extremely unfair to mislead people by giving them half the story by showing them photo's in reduced size. People may actually go out and buy the phone and then be extremely disappointed when the phone doesn't deliver - that was my experience with the K800. I would be extremely let down if I went out and bought a K850 based on bias shown here. You can love your product but don't be all accepting of it.

Lastly, I must give credit to spikeyjac who posted his images. He at least had the courage to post the full res version in the Easto Mobile Phone Camera Gallery. His images of the water fountain show just how big a difference there is between a reduced image and the full size image.

*sigh* Look. On a tiny lens, you only have so much light to work with. So the different phones have different strategies to deal with that problem. So, for instance on the w800 you could take pretty good shots if you kept your hand steady for a couple of seconds, and had good light. Because that would exploit the fairly decent sensor and reduce the noise on the full picture, and typically avoid the blur most other camera- phones would have. But try to take a picture in a hurry, and it would look like shite. And obviously on short exposure it would be a typical camera- phone picture always, and not a particularly good one, either.

And the only reason to even consider putting a 5mp camera on a camera- phone without optical zoom, or quality lens and sensors - is to take better bar- shots through filtering and post- processing. To smooth out the hand- waving, and to avoid trailing on the flying beer- glasses, and so on.

So - question: is a phone- camera that takes a usable picture every five seconds really worth it - as a feature in a phone at this price? Was it worth the development of new clever algorithms to use together with the more expensive 5mp camera? Does it, through the clever post- processing, produce anything like what you are looking for? If it's the option to take quick and decent photos, or whether it's to carefully take clear photos with longer exposure on manual?

Or will you settle for a phone- camera that takes the same picture every time, no matter what you're shooting?

Or just say to hell with it and buy a cheap digital camera, so you can actually take relatively good pictures - without greenish and purple tint or cheesy noise- reduction filters, altered colours and blurs over the entire picture if you're lucky?

I mean, it's a customer- choice at it's very best, isn't it?

So can we just please dispense with all the crap and declare the entire cyber- shot thing an abysmal failure already, based on your purely subjective and ridiculous personal opinion about a goddamned /camera- phone/ - and then just move on? Thank you.

Yep fine - I'm over it. I couldn't be bothered continuing on with this. It is just plain stupid. I know what I think and Plank and everyone else knows what they think. It is reaching the stage that everyone is starting to ridicule others opinion. I don't think anyone has meant to insult or hurt others - it certainly isn't my intention - there are too many people with valuable opinions and input. So, Plank and others, I hope you appreciate where I was coming from as I do appreciate where you are coming from. Let's all just agree to disagree.

On that basis I would like to suggest that a moderator lock this thread as you are right - it is going nowhere and many will never agree.

I have no plans to buy either phone, i couldnt care less and im happy with my w610i with a modded cam driver, the cam is good enough for me. But i think this thread needs more full res pics or it should be locked, this is going nowhere posting images that have been shrinked, i could do the same thing with my phone to get pictures of the same quality.

You are definitely bragging. Arent you a bit NAIVE to put 2 photos taken separately to illustrate? There is no way to judge. Why dont I enlighten you with a photo where the 2 phones are shown side-by-side with the screen on.



I dont see K850 being brighter.

god such a aweful phone N95 is.. looks like a brick with big buttons on.....im so glad i never bought that piece of crap...

the Black N95 (8GB) looks light years better i think, even its a ugly N95

There's an ambient light sensor on the front of the K850 that after a second or two dims the screen or leaves it set at whatever level you decided in the Settings menu if the ambient light is bright.

Try it in the dark... very bright from unlock then the screen dims down. This is not the pre-dimming before the screen sleeps either
