I'm gettng much better wifi performance with this firmware.
I'm not sure if thats because I flashed to world 1 generic before updating(possible difference in acceptable wifi channel settings maybe?) or maybe its improvements to the firmware, but I can finally connect to my home router which was previously impossible and my GPRS settings also finally work properly.

Still a few problems here and there but overall much much much better

I think that with each update SE are improving the wlan. Wlan is such a complex beast, there are so many ways for it not to work, myself I would like to see proper support for power save polling, improved error handling, and more options. We should be able to set a fragmentation threshold, transmit power and connection speed, we should also have some connection testing tools, ping, traceroute, lookup etc etc etc

But yes, i noticed an improvement with the wlan range and performance with this firmware too.

yeah those would be awesome, but I think it'd probably have to be done by a 3rd party since its not worth it for most users.
Right now the only way I can check where the network issues are for my p1i is to first try and access my router, then my ADSL modem and finally try websites to see which ones work(in case one of them isn't responding or is acting up).

What I would want first is a removal of those vague error codes that happen when an app crashes and a way to turn on wifi faster.

Has anyone checked for improvement when using WLAN to connect to WPA protected networks? I Remember there were issues, I know I cannot connected to WPA networks.

@sds, thats strange as im not experiencing any of those problems, and tomtom's working fine for me, perhaps try doing the firmware update again and see, or do a master reset and try again

did you restore from a backup?
This happened to me last time I did that. This time I did a clean upgrade and only restored media, contacts, calender, notes and messages.

Do you have winrar? download winrar and use that to open up the rar file. there should be the XS++ .exe inside.
If your on a mac, then XS++ wont work, but you can still get it out of the rar by using stuffit expander.

If you have the programs to open the rar file and theres still nothing there then you need to check the source of your download.

Can anyone confirm these problems/regressions
1)When using speed dial, the name of the person I'm calling no longer shows up in the numbers area before calling. The caller picture still shows up but no name.

2)When I'm searching for ringtones from the sounds and alerts dialogues, anything played in the file browser is really low in volume but it plays at perfect volume once im back in the ringtones dialogue
