sorry this is a bit off topic, however:

anyone managed to use the findmyiphone feature on the iphone yet? those who have the mobileme subscription will be able to use it. I am trying to figure out how to have it on my 2g iphone but does not seem to be working.

Yeah i have it and used it on my 2g yesterday, told someone in my work to take my phone out on lunch and that i would track him and it works great and the fact you can make it ring for two minutes and get a message on the display is brilliant.

This service should be with all phone.

What you need to do is:

On the iPhone's Home screen, go to Settings, then into Mail, Contacts, and Calendars and make sure Fetch New Data is set to Push.

Then select your MobileMe account and turn on Find My iPhone.

and it test it go to me.com, sign in and click account and the Find My iPhone and have a play.

So the findme setting is on the phone itself?
I thought it was remote, so basically the thief can just go into settings and turn it off?
