I ran the BR001 unbranding on my phone and that worked, except no 3G which also means no data, internet, mms etc...
To get 3G working on Rogers you need to go
Settings / Wireless Controls / Mobile Networks / Access Point Names
and enter the information you can find here

balur, thank you for your input, i upgraded back to BR FB001 and inputted the settings on that webpage and it works, both internet and mms, apreciated.
Why don't the default settings work (the ones that come with the rogers firmware)
Name: Rogers Internet
APN: rogers-core.appl1.apn
Proxy: None
Port: None
Username: None
Password: None
Server: None
MMSC:
http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 720
APN Type: None
I was testing with them and the internet wouldn't work any logical explanation, since they work with the default firmware?
Also someone correct me if I'm wrong but some quick questions
1) Someone mentioned that the BR FB001 is the brazil unbranded, I'm guessing AR FA014/016 is for the rest of north america?
2) Is it true in saying that the FB001 is newer than the FA014/016 or is it an equivalent to either one?
Anyways thanks for all the help fellas

The phone is not hardware capable of. Just the X10 mini supports MT.

I don't have an answer for that one, I didn't look at what they were before I flashed, I flashed and then I googled for the same settings I've used with Windows Mobile for years.

Hi,
This is my first post on the forum - so hello! Got my new X10 a few days ago - but have been frustrated to see that my network provider vodafone UK has not yet authorised/ released the latest firmware for it - am on 1.0.14. I believe there are have been several versions released since this version, and Im a bit worried voda cant be bothered to release updates - which of course doesn't bode well for the 2.1 updated later in the year. I've therefore been trying to debrand using the instructions in this thread...No joy though..
Im using PC Companion (latest version as of 15/5) on Windows Vista
Basically the phone goes through the repair process, and successfully reinstalls 1.0.14. When I go to find the blob_fs folder, firstly its not in the place specified in Loopy's instructions, its in
Program Files > Sony Ericsson > Update Service > db > 13740270 - and secondly there are no large files in there, just a load of ICON* files of around 10kb.
Ive searched high and lo on the C drive to find if there is another location, but with no joy.
Consequently, I cant replace the files and cant debrand with the modified firmware.
I know a few other people have posted reporting similar problems, but as yet there doesnt seem to have been any replies to any of these posts. Could someone please shed some light on the problem?
I do have another PC running XP, which I may try, and also would it be worth runing the specific 'Update service' program rather than via PC companion - or does this essentially do the same thing?
Thanks,
Rob
---UPDATE - I have now managed to get this to work, by using the specific SE Update Service App rather than PC companion.[ This Message was edited by: robertoi on 2010-05-15 13:10 ]

Hey, been running X10i Generic Europe (R1FA016) for about 2 weeks now, works great "debranded a
www.tre.se" mobile, but is there a swedish FW ? the language is in generic Europe but i have some trouble with the GMT/clock, only when reciving mms, the incoming mms is accepted at "time" as my phone is set to, but as soon as i dl the mms/picture or whatever the time is 1h back so the mms jumps back 1h in the "chat" makin it out of context, it is VERY anoying. and i have contacted different providers and SE i think it's the winter/summer time time that is wrong in the call providers server but.. they keep telling me its my phone and i should switch to gmt +1 stockholm.. but i use UK generic so gmt +1 london and s/w africa are my only options and no changeing to +2 or 0 does not affect the mms just the phone...
not a big problem but fawking anoying when you text and mms as much as i do.

Currently uploading the RF1A016 NORDIC firmware for all the Scandinavians who have debranded their X10's using the UK Generic and now can't upgrade to R1FB001.
I updated my own 3 branded X10 from RF1A014 to a generic RF1A016 with this trick and then to R1FB001 using SEUS.
