I'm torn between a Ultra 2 and this phone too. I'm loving the feature set on this phone.

@everyone

sorry for the confusion. the back of the Z2 is glass 100% no questions asked. that is just a protector/cover...

this is esato, for all intents the root of most SE/Sony rumors/information around the net.. we're better than second guessing the materials of an announced device.

i was just saying that it was nice, (most likely wouldnt succumb to finger-grease, either). just appreciating the aesthetic touch..

i'm not sure if this was already clarified but apparently, almost every mid to high end phone can support sandisk's 128GB mem card. even the xz can. several reviews and many samsung fans are bragging the s5's support for 128GB memory cards (over the z2) when almost every other device is capable of using it.

and from sandisk itself:

Looks less noisy, but could be just the white balance and EV tweak.
edit: just check the file size, Z2 picture is almost 30% bigger, around 700-800kb, could there be a new jpeg compression?

Sony mobile is upping the ante this year in advertising with their largest budget ever as they try to capture more market share in the UK. So expect the Z2 and other Xperia smartphones to be pretty much all over all aspects of media.

I believe it will be a real winner when it's available on all carriers in the USA.

I still cannot get an xperia phone on sprint subsidized. There's no real reason as to why they are not available on all carriers. Motorola got Moto X on all carriers pretty quickly.

As I posted on XDA, the photos are not the same, since in each set, the ISOs are different and since more noise appears at higher iso, this is not a fair comparison.

Z1 shot is at iso400 whereas the Z2 shot is at iso100, so that will have a major factor in noise which is quite apparent. I feel the white balance on the Z1 photo is better.

Again in second shot of the RX1 I believe, not all is equal, so no fair comparison, Z2 at iso160, Z1 at iso500!

so can't really compare noise here. The Z2 is sharper for sure, but the Z1 can also be sharp, I'd like to see the ISO performance of the Z2, iso200 and up, since this was/is the issue with the Z1.
