Got a phone call from my sales guy earlier (wonders will never cease), who again appologised for the delay, blamed orange for the supply problems again (no surprise), and told me they are still hoping that the phones will come in this week but that they cant guarantee it. They are however sending me out a letter detailing in writing that they have charged the cost of the handsets to my card but have not yet sent anything out as they have no stock, so i will be able to claim the cash from my company and stop it mounting up interest on my card. Will also likely prove very usefull should anything really dodgy happen and i have to fight the transaction with my credit card company, such as if they go under.

I'm pretty much of the opinion that they are not genuinely trying to mess people around but are having major supply problems (probably with being a far smaller operation than CPW, Orange Direct etc and so further down the supply chain), so i am prepared to bare with them for a while longer.

Their customer service does suck bigtime, with the occasions that anyone shows any reasonable initiative or consideration being few and far between. Most of the sales/customer service staff seem to prefer to give people a quick "yes they'll be in soon" response in order to get them off the phone and probably let them get on with making more sales and comission. When i do get to speak to someone that actually has any info they seem as hacked off with the situation as the customers, as they are apparently fielding calls from a large number of increasingly irrate people looking for their p900's every day, so i'm sure if they could get the phones and get them sent out they would do so to save themselves the hastle.

Surely orange cant take too much longer to get stock out to them...

I am not posting this to gloat - I am a former OSPS "on-the-oh-so-long-waitinglist" trooper, so I only want to encourage other avenues for those of you still waiting.

Let us contrast with the O2 experience - called my shop in the Bullring (B'ham) and they told me it would be in on thursday and they will call me to confirm. Well they called today and told me its in EARLY and I could get it this afternoon! So i went in and there were 3 (yes three!) fellas all sitting round playing with P900s. So i got it all sorted and its sitting on my desk now charging away - all still a day early!

I think you all wanna think about just walking into (or calling beforehand) a O2 shop - if they can do it for you, if they have stock, then get it from them and call OSPS on the spot and cancel. That's my opinion anyway.

I dont think this is a OSPS issue, and that Orange has screwed it up for everyone, so think its time to decide how long you can wait.

After reading (and agreeing with) the latest posts, I've decided to do a bit of shopping this Saturday for a lovely P900 from a company that hopefully doesn't stink as much as OSPS

Arridell...

Whilst arguably not as big a company as CPW, OSPS go to great efforts to state how large a concern they really are... just look at the "About Us" section of their website... apparently they were the Orange Direct Response Dealer of the Year for 2001, 2002 and 2003..., they also claim to be the largest mail order mobile phone company... Further, they suggest that they offer "Honest Advice", though perhaps since they provide this "free" of charge, no-one should complain

A relatively large company woud surely not really care about fobbing off the odd customer, a smaller company would conversely be MORE concerned, since every customer helps to pay the bills and are not indispensible...

I am sure that since the majority of people on this Topic don't really have an immediate rush for the phone, that a little honest advice would have gone a long way (correct me if I am wrong)... if people actually knew relevant information, that was reasonably possible to have been disclosed, then they could have made their own minds up as to whether to wait or shop around, rather than being kept hanging on which retrospectively looks to be indefinitely... it really is not a way to treat consumers...

If a company is going to offer advice, then they should take reasonable steps to ensure its validity, whilst things will always be delayed for some reason or other (my screen protector from a different company for one !), in so long as you have a fairly accurate guestimate of when you will have it, then it ain't that bad... really... i don't think... BUT... WHERE IS MY BLOODY SCREEN PROTECTOR !!!! heheh (i am one of the few impatient ones!)

When it came to god handing out impatience i was up the front skipping the que and trying to pre-order it........ If i want anything i want it NOWNOWNOWNOWNOW!

Only reason i am getting hacked off with them taking their time is the cash sitting on my credit card and the fact that 1 of my colleagues who is also getting a p900 as part of this order (we ordered 3 of them and a 3510i) has issued his 1 months notice to t-mobile on his existing account, so is going to be left uncontactable if they dont pull their fingers out. Due to extreme impatience i got a nice shiney p900 last weekend direct from o2 on my own personal account, so have had my toy to play with for the last week, and if its any consolation to people
still waiting, they are well worth waiting for.

Anyone been bothered to give them a call and find out what todays story is?

What a painful shop this is!?!? I told my friend to order a P900 from this onepainfulstopphonepainshop few weeks back as he wanted an Orange where he's been told many empty promises where I apologized to him and got him to cancel his order!

Does buying a P900 has to be such painful and go through all their aggravations? Just steer clear from onepainfulstopphonepainshop ! ! !

I was brave...

They have apparently JUST been informed they can expect delivery this week so it will be either today or tomorrow.

So what were they told before? It was so obvious that this monkey was deliberately lying.

I hope it's true O2 are selling them locally for free.... if so I'm going there on Saturday!

Has anyone e-mailed Orange customer services with a link to this topic? I'm sure they'd be interested to find out that potential customers are cancelling new orders and contracts with OSPS and moving to O2.

It would be interesting to see their response, and if they would be prepared to offer any conpensation, I mean OSPS are saying it's Oranges' fault for not fullfilling order quantities or deadlines, therefore Orange should be the ones ultimately appologising.

I'm sure if all the disgruntled people on this topic each put their own two penneth in they would maybe do something about it!
