hhmm let me explain this in the easiest way... yes the Bilble and the Quran are linked.... where the Quran is some what the continuation from the Bible... tat is passed on from Jesus to our last prophet Mohammad (SAW). It is not copied...
@PeterKay
maybe we should dicuss to them, about the signs and details of judgement day... its written a long time ago in the Quran, n it seems to be coming true.... like i said the Quran tells the past, present and future. very interesting

dont worry vanquish, it's good you tell us what you think so we can provide some insight.
I'm a muslim in faith and I believe that religion is there to guide you or suggest how you can better yourself, not to control you (as some people are lead to believe)

Better myself?
Christianity is not about bettering yourself for Gods Kingdom, its about his mercy on you, his forgiveness. Nothing i can do can make god love me more or less. Nothing.

i never heard of that on a Christians side but from an Islamic point of view. God loves us all, and gives us a chance to enter heaven by doing good things (those that are considered good)
We have a point system, each bad thing is counted and then each good thing is counted, and whatever outweighs the other grants you entrance to heaven.
Plus there are 7 levels of heaven. (i've never understood what each has an advantage over, except seeing different prophets in each i guess)
So in Islam God only needs to show you mercy if you've done something bad.
Am I right PeterKay?

from kramer_hpal post
yes, from Islam believes, we believe the Bible have been altered and changed... n these changes are made by people not prophets.. therefore the words from the bible will not be able to take account in Islam as its the words are from a normal human bein not prophets... even the most holy Islam man is not allowed to make changes in the Quran.. if im not wrong, tats the reason theres different types of christianity these days... and Islam is just one where ever we are, what we believe and practise...
even my words and peterkay's word are words from the Quran.. we are not allowed to make up something nice just to make you believe Islam is this and that.. thus its creating a sin or might aswell be creating your own religion..

Well I can't say too much but I only share the knowledge that I am 100% sure of. I've asked questions to many Imam's before coming to a conclusion.
People need to remember that the religion is open to interpretation and people may understand it differentely. Having said that you may understand it differentely but the outcome should always be the same.
For example. A man is able to have four wives. I've often asked why is that, and it's simple. It the olden days when men were at war, the women stayed back in villages. Not all the men came back, so it was the duty of those who did to take care of the women that were left without a husband. (many think it's just a sex bonus for Muslims, but yep there is a reason for why we can have four wives) Oh and just a little added info. Each wife must be treated equally, so that way a man cannot favour one over the other. And if the man feels he cannot fulfill this obligation then he should marry four.
See how simple it is?
