That seems to be the trend these days re: houses. I built my place in 97, and it's trebled in value since. As per security in Jozi, my bro-in-law is head of De Beers Forensic Auditing, recently spent R50k on home security... And of course Murphy's Law dictates the obvious... He got burgled :o) This message was posted from a Nokia

Did the woman really look around ? That means she knows what bluetooth is ! She also knows it has a 5-10m range ! From my personal findings 9 out of 10 times the victim does not have a clue what's going on. Usually they thing is a wrong delivered sms. Only freaks like us know to 'look around' - sorry for putting you in a 'somewhat' uneasy position, but I could'nt help noticing that. -I am a Cop after all :-)) This message was posted from a Nokia 7650

As the weather report promised...currently on my way back to CT and from Riviersonderend it seems asif I'm driving into a bloody torrent of typhoon-style wind & rain! The hire car is taking a bit of a torrential hammering.

Plet has so far been the worst with GPRS...about as reliable as a British army SA-80 assault rifle,ie. pathetic at times.

Yep, i agree wth CellTech, a friend in Strand says it's bucketing down, some roads awash so take it really easy, boet. Wrt the SA-80, gprs here today is like the BAR ex WW2, absolutely reliable, except that it's not mud and jungle-resistant :-] This message was posted from a Nokia

@ celltech & Kryptik,
Tks for all that.Appreciated.The better half and I have used the weather as a relatively lame excuse to visit and stay over with old friends in Kleinmond, close to 'Hoermanus'...(Hermanus!)Will saunter through to the Mother City tomorrow instead.A full, consistent 5 bars of Voda signal on the P900.Good stuff.

@ Kryptik,
you seem to be very knowledgeable re firearms. Now I'm no big firearm fundi as such, and I know none of us glorify any gung-ho firearm misuse or war-mongering...I also don't want to digress too much from cellphone discussions, but there is a shop in Great Yarmouth,Norfolk,in the UK,which I discovered last month.
They sell inert weapons, such as a genuine Bren for £299,Maxim on its wheeled chassis for £750,and a whole whopping .50 calibre Browning on its tripod for £950!They also had unmounted .50's from a P-51 Mustang. The shop owner says that most people who buy them, then buy glass & convert them into coffee tables!!
Hmm,can you imagine spending that much on a er...'coffee table'.Somehow I can't imagine too many wives/girlfriends approving of such an expensive, unromantic, mechanical monstrosity in the lounge, and the whole Browning experience will certainly hog most of the usable space in the average study/spare room.
Now,imagine trying to import one and trying to convince customs that you are gonna use it for a coffee table...

Anyway, back to the cellphone stuff.Vodafone UK have stopped their off-peak 60 minutes voice for the cost of 3-minute promotion since the start of August....'bye-'bye Vodafone PAYG sim,it was fun while it lasted...
