Not quite arctic; about -1 degress or so, with a few degrees above during the day. More snow on the way over the next few days.. Next week it's apparently going to be milder..

The 5800's battery is currently having its initial charge, so it'll soon be taking pics of the white stuff etc outside.

@ Hobbster:

Busy downloading apps n' stuff at the mo.

HandyPaint was my first download

Love the screen lock/unlock slide on the sie of the handset. Find the UI easier to navigate than the P1i.
Haven't fiddled with the cam too much, but I'll be putting it through its paces over the weekend, I'm sure.

Would love to see one of your HandyPaint sketches or painting.I remember seeing one or two paintings done by Steve Litchfield and was really impressed with what you could do with those of kind apps if you are creative and have an artistic ability. They were pretty fantastic.

@ Hobbster:
Ya I'll upload some when I eventually get round to creating a few Rembrandts on the 5800, LOL.

Taken from GSMArena today:

"Ovi Maps 3.06 beta now lets you download maps directly to your phone

Ovi Maps has an upcoming update – v3.06 – which is still in beta. Nokia is still working on it and they’ve reported a few improvements – the most notable change is that you can now download maps for offline usage directly on the device (without having to use the Ovi Suite on the computer)…

This new feature is called Update and lets you download country maps on the phone over Wi-Fi. It’s a convenient feature – before, you either had to use Ovi Suite or manually browsing over the areas you want (so that Ovi Maps will cache the data).
The rest of the changes are mostly cosmetic – the old My Position and Search have been combined to into the Map option. It remembers the old map position viewed. A Back button has been added to Favorites, a tap and hold brings up delete and edit in collections & routes.
Anyway, those are only the most recent improvements to Ovi Maps 3.06. The improvements already in place include new maps (with public transport lines), pinch zoom (for Symbina^3 only) and others.'

Sounds like you pretty much covered using the 5800 for GPS Navigation.Nice one.

Just downloaded and listened to Wave Of Mutilation-Best Of The Pixies Wangs and theres another band that were brilliant. Can see why Kurt Cobain was inspired by Mr Black. That guy also had a wild animal inside him.Great band.

'I've kissed mermaids, rode the el nino
walked the sand with the crustaceans
could find my way to mariana
on a wave of mutilation..'

Gee Hobbster, that brings back memories. That and Monkey Gone To Heaven amongst other absolute classics by The Pixies. Brings back sooo many memories of my student days in PE in the early '90's... Sigh...

You seem to have such happy student day memories Wangs.Suprised you can remember them.I think Tsepz student days are going to be one big foggy blur
Wave Of Mutilation is also the name of their Best Of album.Ive got Surfa Rosa,Bossanova and the Ultimate one of the lot,Doolittle, but I felt like having all the classics on one album.Plus there were a few tracks I havent heard before.
I'd love to go back in time and do it all again.sigh (this time with less chemicals involved though)
Nah,that was half the appeal.NO FEAR!!!!!!!!!!!
Bring on the Double Dipped Purple Ohms.
Only jokes.
Those day are over.
