Thank you both! I'm now even more restless to get the Arc.

@Tsepz_GP

I was just ranking my favourite OSs and the list is interesting, looks like the following (in order of importance):

1. Maemo. I can't say Meego cause we know very little of it.
2. Android
3. Windows and Blackberry' OS
4. Web OS
5. iOS

The disturbing news is that Intel and Nokia aren't working closely together as they should. Seems Nokia is doing things without consulting Intel and rumours are that Meego may not make it beyond the phone that is going to be revealed today. Really sad cause I was more than likely going to be getting a Meego phone now that I have decided to have one full touch phone plus a Blackberry QWERTY/touchscreen phone- yep, I've decided to stick with RIM and my next P1i-esque phone is the Blacberry Dakota.

If there is a Windows phone I would buy it would be from SE or Nokia. I quite like what I've seen of Windows phone and I can see myself with one in the future. I think Nokia will bring us great Windows phones. I'm also looking forward to the iPhone 5, that should be interesting. I wouldn't mind getting as I'm sure it will be more of the iPhone I was waiting for.

Web OS needs some time, hopefully HP can make it a powerhouse soon for me to consider.

Symbian, IMO, was screwed by Nokia and I blame them for the mess surrounding Symbian.

RIP my once favourite OS.

Ah gee, this whole Meego thing didnt feel right from the very beginning, Nokia should've stuck to Maemo and pumped more resources into it, it realy had a lot going for it.

For me WebOS will remain probably my favourite, i watched a Palm Pre2 review the other day and it's just so frustrating to see such a great OS being put on such average hardware, although that HP Pre 3 looks great, that OS is just not getting the attention and implementation it deserves, hopefuly HP will put it on the map.

Windows Phone is definetly very interesting and it will be great to see what MS and Nokia bring out, part of me is still not sure if it was the best decision by Nokia, let's see how it works out. Some are suspecting that Elop who is an ex-MS exec may have been the "Trojan Horse" sent in to Nokia to use them to get WP to a wider audience whilest killing off the market leader Symbian... MS dont exactly play fair with competitors (remember what they did to Netscape?) and partners e.g. Sendo, let's see how it all goes though.

I agree, Maemo had great potential. I really hope they can salvage the situation with regard to Meego though I fear it may not happen considering Windows phone 7 is now Nokia's primary OS.

I am keeping an eye on Web OS, hopefully it makes good progress. Having the number one PC manufacturer in the world behind them is already a big plus, let's see what happens.

A 'Trojan horse'? Eish! Considering that Microsoft doesn't like competition it may not be so far fetched a theory. When you think about the rather average sales of Windows phone 7 roping in the biggest manufacturer to push the OS you start to suspect that Elop has Microsoft directives to fulfil. Can you imagine how many Windows phones Nokia will ship within the next two years? Windows phone may just jump from nowhere to the top 3 in just two because of Nokia while Samsung, HTC and maybe SE add to those numbers.

Funny I was just reading that. I don't know Tsepz, they left it too late. The Blackberry Dakota has filled that gap, I don't think it is such a good idea to be carrying two droids with me, I'd quickly get bored.

I have my mind already made up, the Arc and the Dakota are my next phones. Obviously the Dakota is for next year in April or February when I take the early upgrade route on my second contract.

Ya, that sounds like a better combo (Arc and Dakota), the Droid Pro has quickly become ancient with Samsung and LG's announcements, even compared to SE's actualy, that 320x480res is for low ends now.

Ive found my upgrade:
1GB RAM
32GB mass mem and expandable
Super-AMOLED Plus display
USB-OTG (kick in the gut to Nokia)
1650mAh batt
HSDPA 21mbps!!!!
Exynos dual-core CPU
Android Gingerbread
HD1080p@30FPS with HDMI
http://gsmarena.com/samsung_i9100_galaxy_s_ii-3621.php

Ive learnt my lesson, and will be moving to SAMSUNG there's just no way i would take any of the SEs over the GS-II.
I'm waiting to see what HTC announce but i doubt it will be anywhere as powerful as the Sammy and LG Optimus 3D.

If I wasn't allergic to Samsung I would try that phone.

Honestly, it is the best specced phone and I don't see HTC matching that. I just don't see the software side being that good considering it is Samsung.

Other than that it is the perfect phone. Looking forward to reading your thoughts and experiences with it.
