Just rename the one on your phone first and with a different extention like origcamdriver.bak

I just tried that and receive the error message: [fsRenameFile] err:000A

you cannot read or "backup" files from CID53 phones like C905 using A2uploader at this point.
You can overwrite the files no problem, but not copy them out to your PC.

If you want to do that you will need to use the CID53 xtractor tool, and read the instructions on that page.

can we get back on topic now please?

@riksilvers
what's with the attitude my friend?

and i am not wrong.
you must either not have a CID53 firmware, or you have changed your certificate to Brown, which allows permanent patching.
But by default A2uploader will not read or backup files from default CID53 firmware phones.

I apologize beforehand, I can't do a complete description of all the changes. My English is not good for this.

Fixed an error in the syntax of the driver.
I returned back settings Quantization tables. The c905 uses variable Quantization Tables, and if you use non-standard table, this leads to errors in the processing of images (distortion).
A little to rectify the brightness/color balance.
Made the change in size files for modes:
8Mp Low - max 6Mb
8Mp Norm. - max 2.8Mb
5Mp Low - max 3.6Mb
5Mp Norm. - 1.5 Mb
3Mp Low - max 2.8Mb
3Mp Norm. - max 900Kb
Etc ...

Download: dm3.8_rev.189

@alexins
thank you for sharing your driver!
this looks very promising

I will load it and take some test shots

*EDIT* hmm, it looks like the manual shutter speed may be broken now though.
Alexins, can you fix the manual shutter speed? it has no effect now when using without the flash and set ISO level.

these were taken with Alexin's DM3.8 rev189

twilight landscape with low lighting in the room + manual focus (the room was much darker than what this picture shows)
iso 100 1sec shutter speed

auto + flash

VERY low light ISO 200 no flash

ISO 160 LOW lighting

so far I am very much liking the quality of the images produced by this modded DM3.8, but the manual shutter option must be fixed.

looking to take some day shots tomorrow

Erm seems promising. I'll wait till he can get the manual shutter fix before I give it a try.

I'll try to do it, but do not promise that I can do it fast. Not enough free time.
