It wasn't possible on R2AE. Dunno bout the later versions. I switched to the p series after that.

Putting the phone on silent mode mutes the shutter sound. Im runnin R1L, and have faced ZERO bugs so far. Going by the reports on R1N , Im in no hurry to update;-)

I think it varies as per version of firmware. I was on the hongkong version. San is possibly running the europe version.
