I attended the MWC yesterday thanks to Karun and had a quick play with the X10. The phone did not feel as big in the hand as I thought it would and was nice to hold. It is running very quick despite running a pre-production firmware. Two things I was personally interested in were profiles and an EQ. The X10 has neither. Profiles can be resolved with apps and the EQ is not available because it is a limitation of the Android OS. I am a bit disappointed with this from the point of view that most SE phones have historically had good music players with EQ`s built in. Personally I would like the option to adjust the sound at the very least with preset EQ`s. Not good when this handset is being marketed as SE`s flagship handset. Why couldn’t they have added this to Mediascape?? Am I missing something here but is mediascape not just the same as media on SE phones without the EQ?! The volume at maximum seemed to be louder than a standard G900 (mine is hacked and loud) and the sound quality was respectable with my Sony MDR-NC22 earphones. Although I am unsure how it would perform with different types of music because there wasn’t much music variety on the handset. As for Timescape it may be useful to some of you but I am not into social networking and sending or receiving status updates every two minutes.
On to the screen. It was acceptable and no more but then I had just seen the Wave in good lighting conditons on the Samsung stand prior to the X10. Not sure if the lighting condition’s also affected my view of the screen. Who designed the SE stand! It was dull with a curved structure over the top and mirrors all round. Maybe the X10 would have perfomed even worse in a well lit enivornment! Anyway I didn’t get much info from the SE staff. I was told that the handset was delayed to ensure it was perfect and had no software issues. UK release date for the X10 is Q1, for the optional MW600 it is Q2. It would be updated to 2.x at some stage in 2010. No new info there.
I have always been an SE user and had my heart set on the X10 but I have to say I am disappointed with the screen. I will look at it again under normal lighting conditions when available in the shops before making a decision. Perhaps Experia_man or others who have seen the X10 in the flesh could comment on their impression of the screen quality.

OK, let me get this straight. What we have here is a media device with large 4" screen but only 65536 colors, music player with great new thing called mediascape but no Equalizer and no FM radio, responsive capacitive touchscreen but no multitouch, great communication possibilities but no front camera for video calls, Skype etc, nice 8MP camera but no XENON flash and no HD recording and yet we have to wait for it at least another 1,5 month?!

@saka yea that pretty much sums up the current situation

Couple of them out there have some of the above specs, and several more coming up. But the point is X10 is not out there yet either.
What's really disappointing is that not only does this device not have latest feature and technology we desire, but it also doesn't have what much older phones by SE have. It goes backwards in many aspects while not going much forward in other.

Im pretty sure that the X10 will be availble pretty soon... Only handset that may come close is the HTC Desire... which is almost a copy of the Nexus 1...
