I think he meant the power/screen (by power button or by device itself after set time) is off
while performing orientation switch.

Nice review @laffen.

@SKIBBE the landscape view is built into android and turned off or bypassed by most manufacturers. It appears SE have been a little bit sloppy in the way they coded their launcher (they missed a change in an OS setting), I bet you don't get the same issue with a third party launcher.

I had the same thing with my X10 a few times in the first official FW, the problem was fixed in the first update on the X10. It shouldn't take SE long to fix it on arc.

I meant that if you are in any application that support both portrait and landscape orientation and you press the power button the exact moment this application is about to change orientation. The phone will mess up the lock screen at the next power on. I think this happen to me when I was in the media player application

Ah, my arc has finally arrived! Chinese customs are a real pain. Now I've got the long agonising wait for the first charge cycle.

In my box:

silver arc and battery
USB cable
scratch protector
black leather pouch
GreenHeart charger
GrennHeart wired headset (MH650)

No HDMI cable but I bought one off ebay anyway.
All my cables are black. I'm wondering which region got the silver cables that were in an unboxing picture a few pages back.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc crowned best mobile phone
HTC Desire finally loses the top spot

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc has shown itself to be the phone that finally knocks the HTC Desire off the perch of best mobile phone in the world.

TechRadar's ranking of the 20 best handsets is our definitive list, helping you work out which phone to pick up, and has had millions of views since its launch last year.

The HTC Desire has sat proudly atop that list since its launch last year, but now there's a new smartphone cowboy on the scene in the shape of the Xperia Arc.

It was an nigh-on impossible task to choose a winner, with all of the top 20 proving to be quality smartphones - and the HTC Desire S and Desire staging the mobile version of a Greek tragedy at numbers two and three below the Xperia Arc.
