@jn,the meaning of those word in ur lingo were strange...

roti in general is small balls of dough made into circular/triangular shapes with the help of a pinroll and cooked.

chappati..wheat,cooked dry on a pan.
parathe..wheat,thicker than chappati, cooked on a pan with about 1-2 teaspoon of butter.(porota...the southindian version is made with flour)
pudi..again wheat,fried lightly in oil.
nan..flour,...baked in a traditional oven(tandoor)
bature..flour,fried lightly in oil.

@doctor - OK ! So, to sum it all up . . . they were 'mostly' foods that has a 'BREAD/DOUGH' base No 'rice' meal at that Indian meals usually is being mixed with 'spicy' ingridients - right? Like 'pepper' etc. So, that only goes to show that you must be perspiring a lot when eating your meals, specially those who dine in a resto with no airconditioning unit. With this, does it happen that more people are brought in the hospitals during the summer season, or worst at that when HEAT WAVES occur
