in case the next sony flagship is going to have fingerprint scanner they should find a better way to implement it then apple and samsung did, this is bad example from apple - scanner is dead after a small scratch with a knife in iphone 5s:

I do not want FingerPrint Scanner as of now... It's just a gimmick to sell phones, for now, surely it could be useful but not With current tech... I have way MORE confidential and important things on my laptop than on my phone and still I do not have FingerPrint on it... Password is still a great way to protect yourself
The only things next flagships need are MORE Rom, MORE battery, USB 3.0... Stop...

The fingerprint implementation by Apple is the best until now. Just put your finger in the button like you always do and it works wonderfully.
The one by Samsung, though, is trash... You have to press the button to turn the screen on, then swipe to make it try to recognize the fingerprint...
I think, if Sony does it just like Apple did (great implementation, nice design with it) I think Xperia devices could have it. If not, just leave it alone.

The one by Samsung is crap, it reminds me of my old laptop which was useful for logging in to Windows... but with my new laptop ( which is already old ) I don't seems to miss anything...
Apple's implementation is better IMHO, but very sensitive in the other hand and can be broken easily with scratches and small accidents... so it's not practical for the long term...
If Sony can do it the same way as Apple implemented by in more sturdier and reliable way then It's okay for me...
Software should be better than Samsung also, Apple is nice though in this area...
Sony now is a position in which they should look for higher quality and no compromise...

No thanks, I'm waiting for the next microUSB mobile standard, microUSB 3.0 (like in Note 3, S5 ) is not a good idea for mobile phones...
The next standard (called Type-C) will be as small as microUSB 2.0, as fast as USB 3.0, and finally it will be reversible.
The specifications should be finished by mid-year, So Sony will have sometimes to add it, I hope they support it...

to me, all fp scanners on the market are trash = not reliable. this is why i said either sony come with a new approach that really works or not bother. there are better features worth inventing on like mentioned.

there fp scanners detect your pulse, I can think if you get robbed, the thief just chop your fingers off and take the phone so he can unlock the phones easily.

What I don't like about the fingerprint as password is the fact that you'd leave your password everywhere then, everything you ever touched contains your password.
Where's the security in this?

or he can just format the phone via pc, that will be much more easy and less painful
