there fp scanners detect your pulse, I can think if you get robbed, the thief just chop your fingers off and take the phone so he can unlock the phones easily.

or he can just format the phone via pc, that will be much more easy and less painful

not if he is actually want the stuffs inside or want to do a quick factory reset before you can use GPS tracking to track it.

No need to chopping off bodyparts guys
Just scan the fingerprint, print it as described in the link above and put it on your finger, then you have a fake fingerprint with bodyheat and pulse.
Fingerprint as security is the dumbest thing possible.

I read somewhere that fingerprints should be usernames, not passwords.

An article on Xperia Blog with some tidbits on Xperia-related tech for those interested. You'll see some slides related to the Live Colour LED tech and others:

One that caught my attention was the Z2 camera module. In an earlier discussion, we pondered whether the Xperia Z range had large top/bottom bezels due to the thickness of the camera while maintaining a symmetrical design. Judging from this photo, this hypothesis appears likely. If Sony were to fit it behind the screen, you would end up either with an unsightly bulge, or have to increase the thickness of the entire device to maintain an omni-balance appearance.

This rumoured Arc-like design could potentially hit two birds with one stone. Or, Sony could redesign the camera module to be thinner and keep the current flat XZ design. Some posters indicated they don't mind a slightly thicker phone anyway. Aside from the steady stream of hardware improvements in each new Xperia, the question becomes: is it time for a new design language, or does the flat glass slate-like design suffice?

Don't change what ain't broke? Or risk becoming stale like Samsung where consumers struggle to see tangible differences in each new model?

@Smaug
one of the most unique things about sony is the design. there is no risk. i'm sure a new arc design will look and feel as good if not better then omnibalance.

It's comparison between Z1 and Z2 speakers, and Z2 have 2 of these bigger.
