The design is not bad at all..
Looks stunning in green color..
Black look kinda ok..
They improve almost everything..
New streao speakers setup, new camera algorithm..
Hope this time we see louder speakers and finally a camera that on par with competition..
If sony price this around €700 it will sell well😊

I agree with most of you, while the overall design is better than nothing. but the few details are making it awkward.
1- In it's thinnest it's 6mm, in it's thickest it's 11mm, which is too much.
2- Lack of 3.5mm port, it's might be as what @josephnero said it might be reserved for a more high-end phone later. but just the idea of removing it is bad for me and a lot of other people.
3- Nothing wow here, while I don't mind 5, 8 or 13 MP front cam as I rarely take selfies, the bezels while better than previous Sony's but these are nothing to say at least good compared to the competition. It reminded me of what HTC did with their U11 already.
And I still didn't found a proper Android replacement for my phone, I won't buy a new phone now but maybe later this year or early next year so I still have time for IFA.. but I was thinking about getting an iPhone (can't believe I'm writing this
), but really I can't see any worthy Android flagship.

I've have checked tons of photos samples of GSMArena.
Photos from XZP/XZ1 that have low ISO are not any worse than the samples from Note 8, u11 etc.
The way ppl say, looks like difference is 25% or 30%.
Ppl forget to scale all photos to same resolution before they compare.
Bigger photo will be even bigger if you apply zoom, the object gets " closer" to you compated to smaller photo.
Front camera of XZ is better than S8.
How is it possible?
Why would GSMArena give to XA Ultra review the title : LORD OF SELFIES?
I saw samples of S9, I am shocked how bad they look.
I have never seen all that noise on a 12MP.
