No one here is exciting with record wonder of Tegra K1 (near 44000 on antutu)
or did I just missed something?
I am, BUT, it got that score at 3GHz, the final product will run at 2.5GHz, I'd like to see how it does when lowered 2.5.

Does anyone actually care about bench mark performance in their phone I don't thats for sure. My Z1 is spot and I have never once thought that I wish it was that little bit faster. Just a quick question if anyone can answer is there currently any app or programme that requires a quadcore CPU to run it and what are the chances of the SD 800/801 ever using all 4 cores at maximum clock speed. Personally I think this whole CPU race is now getting a bit daft and is all about the numbers in benchmarks for the companies to say looks at us we get the highest score on Antutu so there for we are the best use our CPU's when in most cases the CPU is being tricked into reaching maximum performance and give out misleading benchmark results. The one thing Qualcomm, Samsung, Mediatek and Nvidia should focus on is energy efficiency from their CPU's that is something everyone can agree on as it will benift every single user rather than the power hungry people out there who need 3.0GHZ octacore CPU but will only last 12 hours or so before needing to re-charge the battery just so they can boast to their friends that their phone is more powerfull than a netbook or laptop.

It's already proven that benchmarks only show what a phone can be capable of in extreme situations. It says nothing about everyday use.

Creating faster CPUs does help with energy efficiency. You can clock them lower and get the same amount of work done, and you can use bursts of high clockspeed and then "race to idle" where your power draw is lowest.
Besides, if I'm not mistaken, the display has the highest power consumption of any component on the phone, followed by the radios, and the SoC is only third place.

One thing with the CPU that would help power consumption would a lower NM rating Qualcomm have being using 28NM based CPU's since the Snapdragon S4 which I think first made an appearance in the HTC One S which is now 2 years old surely Qualcomm are looking into a 22NM or 18NM semi conductor technology I don't know a lot about this but I do know that it can make a difference on power consumption how much I'm not sure though
by the way totally unrelated by Samsung lost their patent infringement case against Apple and told to pay a massive $930m on top of the $929.9m they paid them back in 2012. Will Samsung ever learn.

^ Now that would be a big step in CPU development but still probably a year or so away

apparently Apple's A8 chip wiil have 20nm manufacturing process and be in the iPhone 6 in the Autumn so fingers crossed Qualcomm can do the same

The 810 leaks were fake.
