@shyam how do i check if sata drives work on my system pal? Why isn't seagate popular anymore?

Easy,open your pc and look for sata slots lol,or download some utility like everest home edition and check or refer your mo-bo manual.segate had a lot of issues regarding thier products.ok,now all of em have 5 year warranty,still thier performance is not the best.

@shyam i have 2 hard disks on my system presently, a seagate 40g and samsung 40g. The seagate I bought in 2002. The temperature recorded by the samsung averages at 35, while the seagate occasionally goes to 55. Does rising temperature cause problems because the seagate already has a couple of bad sectors. Any idea on how to cool it down?
