I would imagine not as macro mode works by a moving lense, so thus should be encorporated into the autofocus module which the w850i aint got, unless it has an external switch which switches macro on and off i would say it dont have macro

If you look at the white one on Mobile Review it has silver buttons, including the play/pause button. The keypad has changed and is not see through as before, so you won't get that effect of the pad lighting up.

@Coxy, yup those mid tier clamshells are at various resellers already.
This one WILL be a collectors item I believe. I'm curious how the camera will fair without auto focus.

The second tab is the most interesting, since it appears to be some kind of a task manager, featuring the list of all running applications. The previous handsets by Sony Ericsson supported only multitasking – you could play a Java-game, listen to the radio or player and type a message at once. Though these devices made one more step forward – user is able to run two Java-applications at a time and switch between them. This may come in handy, in case you use an ICQ-like mobile client, which should be constantly online, and at the same time want to play a Java-game.

I agree that this phone looks nice, but no flash, no lens protection, just won't do for me, but that's just me, I think it won't beat K750i in photo quality.

It definitely won't beat the K750, W800, W900 or W810. The camera on the K610/Z610 (which is the same) is okay-ish but suffers from poor colour reproduction and LOTS of noise (caused by over amplification, I'd have to guess) on low-light images. A similar problem to the many other non-AF 2 megapixel camera modules in use by Nokia, Motorola, HTC, BenQ-Siemens etc.
However, if imaging isn't a priority, the W850i is still a very nice product with lots of new features. I'd have to say that it's probably going to be the best Walkman model unless you're after the UIQ version. Now 4GB memory sticks are available for under £70, the 4GB integrated memory (without expansion) isn't as good as it was when announced earlier in the year.
