I think the color of the k850's pictures are great, and natural... The pics I have seen the colors have been surprisingly good.
But some fixing can make wonders...

@ plankgatan I was wondering when the ring around the lens is glooming? Just after activating the cam or every time you take a photo? Do you know if the phone takes Micro SDHC? Which means MicroSD cards larger than 2 GB (eg. 4 GB or even the new 6 GB)? I'm wanting this phone more and more (because of the pictures I see), but I can't decide wheter to wait a few weeks for a little price drop or to get it now! Here in the US it's currently around 600 $ (and net even official released, all imports). I'm original from Germany and just here for an exchange year in the US and they have it in Germany already official out for the same price in Euro!

Well HONESTLY, I am NOT yet amazed by this K850's- 5 MP camera . . . as majority of the ones uploaded here CAN be paralleled with that of the K800's/K810i's and EVEN - K750's . . . so far, it's ONLY dcuk's - yellow flower that stands-out (well, not that amazing though . . .). Make it BETTER guys !

Guy's don't get me wrong. I can actually see that there is an improvement in the images taken by the K850 over the K800. I just wish that a full res the images looked better. I guess I am being a bit picky because the images are fine when viewed to fit the screen.

The thing I like most about digital photography is that feeling of awe you get when you look at a good photo full size on a large screen and it looks perfect, when you can see really fine details without noise or artifacts and being able to zoom in for a better look. This just won't happen with the K850 or any Camera phone.

I agree 100% about the awe factor.

But yet my mum's Kodak 5MP, while better than K850, still doesn't have that nice perfect finish. In my experience you need a prosumer camera or an expensive compact before you even start to get that kind of quality. And I have to say, many of my K800 shots are very clear and sharp and give me that awe factor. Also the results are often disappointing, but ONLY if you are expecting quality digicam results. If you lower your expectations just a little, you will enjoy the good shots so much more.

B I N G O! @Max

yes, a prosumer camera will definitely give you the results you like minimized or maximized.

coz these camphone can only do what a typical point and shoot cam can do.
and nothing more, for the known reason that the cam module is at its best on that size....

only prosumer cams, or DSLR and eDSLR, EOS, etc etc. can give wonders on major close ups....

im not a photo enthusiast tho i wanna be one. but looking at K850 on 100% res and looking at those edges, i think i will be contented at the results im seeing. those same jaggies, artefacts, infringements etc etc can also be seen in some point & shoot cams if not all... and thats what we have to know about camphones, take can only function as our daily P&S digicams.

why people are fond of camphones, coz they can perform some functions like our P&S cams, theyre compact, and you can make calls from them.

given the chance, i would really love to have a K850 for those once in a lifetime moment, and a prosumer cam for some of those interesting places to visit.

but then again, we all have our preferences....

DSLRs is a Type Of Camera, EOS is a brandname under the Canon Camera Family

greetings plankgatan,

having read your posts to this forum for quite sometime, i'm sure that no matter what evidence that people provide here to the contrary to your opinion you wont agree but just for the sake of it, below are the links to macro pics taken with a camera phone by DigDub, which were originally posted at hardwarezone.

and finally this one: http://flickr.com/photos/shuuro/1417215416/
if i crop above pic at 100% this is what we get to see: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2091/1595315214_b479a245d0_o_d.jpg

I think pics taken with k750i lacks details due to its less mp but it produces much better sharp and vibrant pics when compared to k850i, IMHO.

Others, sorry for this distraction and please continue with your postings. I anticipate kind of responses that i would get and since i made my point, i would try to restrain myself from further posting.
