I also have the problem that i can't update to the latest firmware, SE's update software says that i have the latest firmware.

Has anybody seen a fix for that?

Can't update firmware from R1CA039 to R1EA030 for w910i

Guys,

I bought an unbranded w910i off the shelf which was preloaded with the R1CA039 firmware. Reading up on the new firmware (R1EA030) which offers significant speed improved I tried to update it both through the SEUS and the inbuilt phone update service but it keeps telling me my phone software is up to date. Is there any manual mechanism of loading the new firmware or any other way to make SEUS recognize that my firmware is not up-to-date.

I've seen some other people are experiencing similar problems with unbranded/debranded w910i phones. Has anyone had any luck with Sony Ericsson support? I haven't.

Ideas and suggestions will be more than welcomed.

Cheers,

Why dont you update to R1EA030?

And if you cant update, that means you need to "debrand" it with DavinciTeam software, im gonna wait for the C++ version to be release though, because it is free!!!!

Nope, i tried master reset, and it only deletes all profiles, contacts, and other settings etc. you are still stuck with the same fw

I think the only way is to debrand, it sucks, but no other choice. Next time you should wait to see fw notes and bugs before updating.
