cardo, since you are in london so you might be working for CSR who is making the Bluecore chip while JH67 is designing the bluespoon
anyway it is logic tht component to make the headset is having shortage coz bluetooth chip tense to always run out of stock fast...i should said it have manufacturing difficulties.

We're all waiting.
I've been waiting for ages.
When it gets here, it gets here.
There are better things to bother your head with.

Cardo > Right,..the Bluespoon should have been out a while ago,..but due to some delays on materials and so on,..we simply had to "push" the release-date,...these things happen to "almost" everyone,..nothing more to say really
The difference between me (Nextlink) and other companies are,..that I'm telling people where we stand, and how we progress,...none of the others do this.
They just push their release-dates without any notification,..so people dont know whats happening....and of course people get angry, because they dont know whats going on.
We (Nextlink) chose to tell people, right from the beginning, how Bluespoon comes along.
Bajie >
Right my friend
Life is one big "wait" anyway, hehe
SIN >
You can order it directly at Nextlink,..just write them
C96 > Nope,..the qualification has nothing to do with the delay. As I wrote earlier (cardo also mentioned this),..the reason is, that when ONE thing get delayed,..it pushes the rest of the production,..you cant really avoid it,...we just work harder and try to catch up
And one have to remember that nextlink doesnt have the capacity of e.g. Plantronics, Nokia, SE. We're not that many people,..actually only about 18 ! So we cant "just" make up for the lost time,...unfortunately
There are no problems right now,...just working like hell
We want to get the Bluespoon out there too !
Regards
jan

Well... Could you tell us a date in which you approximately expect to sell it? I know I am asking much, but your "old firends" at esato will likely be big customers...
Please...
This thing is so cool it could sell A LOT, especially to us here

I'm a bit surprised that the bluespoon does not show up on the Bluetooth SIG list of qualified products?
I've listed below the compagnies who are listed with qualified products using the Headset-HS profile. Are Nextlink owned by someone else, or don't they have to qualify their product because they use the already qualified CSR module?
Or do they simply plan to ship the product to all us thirsting users, and then certify it afterwards (as they use a CSR module, this might be a safe choise?).
Anyway here is the list, taken from
this search at the Bluetooth Qualification Program Website (Look for product type: PROD. And notice, just because they are qualified, they don't have to be selling it yet):
Digianswer A/S
GN Netcom A/S
Ericsson Mobile Communications AB
ELSA AG
Fujitsu Limited
GN Netcom
Ericsson Mobile Communications AB
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
Emkay Innovative Products
ATO Technology Ltd.
Peltor AB
Zi Corporation (H.K.) Ltd.
Plantronics, Inc.
Computer Access Technology Corporation
Motorola
Wicos. Co
Fujitsu Limited
Blueway
Visteon Corporation
Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB
Skypower Wireless Ltd.
Fujitsu Limited
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
Innovi Technologies Ltd.

Okay maybe I was a little harsh before, but I still think It's wrong for expansys to continue to advertise the Bluespoon as though they have them in stock ready to go. I'm sure that if I was to somehow obtain one of their Bluespoons they would not thank me for "repeatedly" telling them "not to worry the cheque I sent you is in the post and will get you by next week" When the truth of the matter is that no bloody cheque has even been written out!!!

jan,
The first batch of bluespoons look like they're 90% there features wise, BUT I need one of the ones that pick up the voice by sensing the vibrations of your jawbone. Any word on how long before those will come out? I need those since I'm in a noisy environment, and the others pick up way too much outside noise. How long before you guys are developing those and actually selling them? 1-2 years?
