So far most sample photos in daylight conditions look bad. Any explanation? Due to sensor nature or bad processing? For me it just tons of postprocessing making these shots look so unnatural.

Whoever says daylight shots are bad, definitely should have their sight checked,
Perhaps some people were expecting it to be DSLR alike quality?

I hate reposting stuff but have you seen the samples from xperia blog?

Z1 Samples

I hardly call those bad photos and those are still from test firmwares, not yet the final one.

well plenty of retailers on amazon are taking advantage of the Z1 and posting lots of "accessories" for it. but so far, no actual handset for sale :/

i am going crazy waiting to put my order in!

@reeflotz - i bet if you posted a nikon D4 photo sample and said it was a Z1 photo sample, they'd say it was poor quality

I expected better results from a 20.7 MP sensor and a G lens. Hopefully Sony can improve the picture quality with software updates.

Why ? We knew its a small sensor with 1.4 micron pixels.. nothing surprising at all. In fact, they look better then they should.

The lens is better than the one on the 1020... no distortion towards the edges, at least from the samples I've see so far.

@moogoo

lol, its crazy how much criticism Z1 is getting when it isn't even out yet. People are already putting it down when they haven't even tried them themselves yet, or at least back up their claim with at least some solid proof.

With G-lens coupled with BIONZ...there should be a WOW factor already even if it was on early firmware. Sony should make it right by now.

Just say its shame for Lumia 1020, that Z1 being Smaller sensor is really kicking it and coming close to it in some areas
Z1 is still without
OIS
XENON
LARGER SENSOR
but it is proving better and better
And Last 3 photos from xperiablog having firmware .518 were shot with ISO800
and rest were shot at ISO 50 or ISO 64
BUT i am really impressed by sample photos really sony made it this time
