Can't believe how unimpressed I was with that iPhone 4S.Took me quite by surprise actually. Was kinda bored after a couple minutes.Didn't see that coming.I can tick the iPhone off my list for now.
Next on my list is getting my hands on a Nokia Lumia phone to see what all the fuss is about.Kinda interested to see this WM in action.
But for now its Android all the way babbbbbyyyy! Bring on the ICS!!!!!

Hey guys, hope everyone is still good. Sorry for being M.I.A for the better part of a year. But here's an update:

Phone-wise, I can't remember the last time I used an handset...colleague at work has got one of the newer Xperia handsets...quite nifty and smart. Personally I prefer Galaxy S-range...will probably upgrade to latest Samsung when my contract comes up for renewal around June.

My Galaxy S is rooted n' booted...just the way I like it but getting the latest version of CynogenMod to work seems like rocket science...if anyone in Cape Town is capable of this delicate surgery, lemme know...I always have the feeling that I'm missing out one some of the Android goodness.

Other than the Galaxy S, the other gadget which absolutely makes life worth living is Apple iPad2...had the option of going the Galaxy Tab route earlier last year but Android's pathetic battery life and the dearth of apps put me off and I ran into the arms of Steve Jobs even though I thought iTunes was the crappiest software ever invented and Apple products were over-priced. Thus far the iPad has proven itself a reliable, fast and effective tool for this roadwarrior, especially with an 8ta sim.

Hope you're well Brix, great to know we have one more Galaxy S user here
Personaly havent done any modding to my gs2, other than flashing an unbranded 2.3.6 FW and rooting.

Couldnt agree more about Android tablets, ive had a Galaxy Tab10.1 since middle of last year, and although great for web browsing and movies, most Android apps arent optimized for it, although thats slowly changing and shouldn't be an issue once most get ICS, for now its looking rather...dry.

Hey everyone.

I'm off to the US in a couple of weeks for just under a month...will mostly be staying in an around the East Coast, including Florida checking up on what they're doing in terms of journalism, ethics and the use of technology in news rooms. Hopefully I should come back with a lot of information to share with friends and colleague.

Right now browsing at all the GSM providers, looking at data-only plans for the iPad. Will likely pick up a disposable, el cheapo phone when I get to the Washington DC which is my first port of call.

EDIT: Just noticed that some of the threads, which had been quite active before, haven't been updated in months...The Slovak Forum for one.

What's happened to Esato?
