@lone_snake:
The update isn't avalaible yet via FOTA (built-in updater client). You are required to update via PC as what you did last time. Is yours APAC K800i? If it isn't, it may be because your customization isn't available atm. You can PM me if you want to discuss further. Thanks. Whereabout are you in Indonesia? As a note, I'm NOT an expert in phone firmware. I just happen to know little about SEUS.

@hanugro:
Did KulanKendi just update your EROM but not flash it..and your K800i is still alive? Hm..if it's the case, why doesn't SE do the same?

@aremaboy
Nope I just update EROM through KulanKendi. EROM update is free and competely seperate from firmware update (although you may do both at once). I have not update firmware to R1GB as I am weighting the benefit and cost (CID51 EROM). If the EROM is corrupt with CID51, there is chance Kulankendi or Wotan may not be able to fix it again. Unless someone said Kulan can work with CID51 EROM. I am not against bringing the phone back to authorised service centre here in Jakarta, but it take time (at least 24hr) while you can try kulankendi to fix it in few mins using EROM updater. Hopefully R3A016 will not crash again.

I will try to update my wife Z610 using wotan (kulan has not got new firmware yet). She wants traditional chinese in her phone so I will use R1GB HGK/TAIWAN. Wotan can run now after I don't use router anymore (unlike Kulan Kendi who can use router just fine).

As I suspect before SE deliberately omit the EROM update via SEUS. I don't know exactly the reason but I hope the decision is not based on that SE can charge us for WSOD, or other EROM problem. Hope they are doing it so they can monitor any problem with specific version of EROM.

@wopo,
kulan kendi has ver1.28. You may try whether it can handle EROM CID51.

Hmm strange you guys dont have the instant viewer thing... Could be a 3 branding thing i guess. But im sure it wasn't there before... And besides, i can switch it off and on, but nothing happens...

Dude maybe it's like you can turn of the little preview of the video's when you hover over them. Can you check that out?

@ mdou: cheers m8, i heard that people who had updated their erom couldn't update via seus - just wanted to check that out...

@ hanugro: cid51 shouldnt be a problem for wotan server and co. give them a few weeks and they'll have support for it. The really bad thing about cid51 (in my view) is that u lose the ability to use phone xs/xc and change files inside your phone (like the sound and camera drivers etc...). If you have no intention of doing stuff like that with your phone then i dont see cid51 as a problem

The instant viewer thing, (here in the UK at least) is 3's advertisement banner on the phones standby screen displaying links i.e. games, tones etc.. For example, I had a Nokia 6680 on 3, certain 3 badged firmwares included the instant viewer and the option to disable it.

@ ~DC:UK~ re the video preview, why not do the following:

- Video preview can crash the phone if the video is encoded as high quality MP4. Note that video preview cannot be turned off, although you can view the folder as a list to avoid the issue.

Well I do hope so since I am very tempted to upgrade to R1GB.

PhoneXS need 5hr brute force to crack CID49 (but still no guarantee of success). I hope I can customize my phone but for 5hr, well no thanks.

Maybe few months from now we can customize phone like we do with the CID36 now. That will prolong my interest with my k800 for another year

@Mwarner I think you need to update the first page about filemanager bug not yet fixed.

hey guys... i have updates for those who are suffering from Red LED Blink Dead phones. if anyone of you who has a dead K800i or any variant, just update the EROM of your phone using Klan Kendi Client. and by any minute your phone will be alive again. just make sure you have a full battery before doing the update. the EROM of my previously dead phone is now R3...16. thank God! thanks also to hanugro for the help. thanks mate!
