and now, Sony has no NC USB-C headset to sell to their customer...
well, about ditching 3.5 jack
what I really surprise is that Sony ditched 3.5 mm means they also ditched the Digital Noise Canceling built-in!
I really love that feature, always used that with MDR-750NC before I changed my headset to WI-1000X
now they have no USB-C headset with NC to sell ...
about 4K HDR recording. the blogger friend of mine has played with it. He told me that the HDR video is looking great, noticeable when record it backlight. maybe it's better detail than still image (not tested yet)

I'm in opposite side of your and not surprise to the decision as analog audio port has dragged industry to new development for long time, I'm positive and ready to change.
Since, IFA17 when they make announces of three new wireless 1000X series, I know the change is ahead of us.

Seems like phones are going to be shipped next month.
There has never been Qualcomm /Samsung deal about first units..
Last year the same guy from Qualcomm was there for Sony.
After the press many asked him if there was such deal.
He said no, also got very upset...
Qualcomm would never risk their relationship with other phone makers.
LG wanted to sell G6 in february, that is why the 821 instead.
Sony did the same with previous MWC flagships.

The G6 wasn't deliver in February anyway, late as April in their target markets same as HTC Ultra.
And as we all know Galaxy S8 trounce both of them into pieces.
As for first and fast XZ2 shipment in March, The move is bloody make me surprise
I don't know how much it cost to fast track like this, Sony usually score mid year release schedule
but Sony seem confident with Ambient Flow to fight head on with the big gun like Galaxy S9.

I was about to say that too. Hoping the camera has multi frame noise reduction too! (Stated it helped Qualcomm )
