Just wanted to report that I also have the issue with the wrong driver version displayed in the phone's software info.
It should be 2.441 ... but it is 2.185
Not sure why it is like that ...
But the driver is AWESOME!
I did the small adjustments paldrive was suggesting a few pages ago and now the metadata seems to be okay.
Sometimes I just think that the 2.441 has very very little too much noise ... but that's only in poor light conditions
So far ... I'm using it and it's simply a blast!
I'm not sure about the video recording though ... cause when I look at the driver it says "3C" (that's 60 in decimal) for normal mode and "1E" (that's 30 in decimal) for night mode recording.
Not sure what that exactly means ... aksd?
And another question ... I'm just curious

... does this driver have spot photometry?
Love ya all!

I agree with you phoeny, and this is not to complain about the 2.441 video recording, but the 5.6 version looks a bit better

Hi all!
I spent the whole day reading the last 60 pages of the thread and I'm quite amazed with the development you did last week! I couldn't imagine so many drivers were posted, so many interesting things happened... Anyway, it's nice to be back with you guys.
I went on holiday with e_erzan's 5.6c camdriver and it didn't fail me. I can't wait till tomorrow to test his latest 3.1 and aksd's 2.441!
I apologise to all of you who are using my mirror site to download drivers, because it was not updated for a week. Today I uploaded all the new drivers from aksd, ady_k4e, e_erzan and gxg to
http://se.dgd-bg.com/ so it's back online
Enjoy!

It's me again guys ... hehe
Well I think I know why there is the confusion with the driver version in the phone's software info.
In aksd's 2.441.dat it says "
1B9" for the minor version in hex. Thats correctly "
441" in decimal.
BUT ... "
185" in dec is "
B9" in hex ... so there's the point ... do you guys get it?
Apparently the phone can't read a
3 digit hex-code for the minor version (that is "1B9") ... it just reads "B9" ... that's why it shows "185" for the minor version
Maybe aksd has to rename his driver so our cells show us the right version

A few clarifications:
1. About the metadata I truly apologise for the error caused which will be rectified in future camera driver releases. I was experimenting on a few values and forgot to change them back.
2. I agree the noise in low light conditions maybe a bit more than "usual" that is because of two reasons:
a. I have increased the shutter speed to prevent your picture to go off due to slight shake in the hand and to be able to photography a moving object as arash has shown us earlier.
b. I have decreased exposure therefore limiting the light.
Solutions: Usage of nightmode in low light conditions....I will make nightmode a bit faster so you wont have lag time in the next release.(approximately next week sometime.....I have tests this week at uni)
3. Video Recording: 3C=60....Fps= 60/4=15.....now the Hardware has a limiting factor of 15fps but may go upto 17fps with undue stress on you graphic card....I do not know if it will harm the card in anyway but my first priortiy is to make Still captures the best quality possible and then work on the video recording bit but if it is required I will ask erzan to help me out where video recording is concerened......but I thought since the video capture is totally ****

anyways lets get the stills perfect first and let me tell you we are far from perfect.
4. On the request of GXG I will be releaseing the ULTIMATE INCOMPLETE

GUIDE to camera driver modding next week(due to my tests of course) in Word format that will explain whatever I know in detail which is approxiamtely about 50% - 70 % of the driver(therefore the name incomplete)
5. Camera driver Naming: As phoney has brought to my notice the phone does not read 3 digits in hex so we need to change the naming scheme so I would like suggestions for further versions. ANywys I apologise again for the error but I do not have a phone on which I can test out these minor details which should'nt be ignored either.
Regards,
Akshay

Thanks for clarifications aksd!
I agree with you on tweaking the still shots to perfection first before concerning about video recording ... first things first.
And its kind of cool to hear that you say "we are far from perfect"

... I'm anxious to test the next driver ...
We didn't have 8.x versions so far did we? To fix the naming problem

We did.
gxg made a
camdriver version 8.01. Not so much numbers left... I think 4.x and 6.x are free, though
