Petition to rename this thread to "2019 Xperia" and continue doing so for 2020 where there are both rumors and general discussions about that year's line up. There's not a place to discuss the released ones collectively.
@Hawk idk, probably it is that presentation. I'm impressed by hybrid stabilization. Watch it at 0.25 speed. Almost every frame is in focus. Looks like they eliminated even the impact shake when your feet hit the ground. It's so smooth and sharp.
For those who want to see the demo vid, it's at 13.56.

If they made a device exactly like 1 but with less than 15cm, I'd feel so tempted.
Still 4 months till IFA.

I still don't think ifa devices will be bigger or same as 1. It just doesn't make sense to replace 1 four months after its release. And if bigger it'll be like 180mm. Only sensible way is to shrink. But under 15cm? Not likely if you ask me. Could be close though.

It's not the first time the selling of the movie studio is mentioned. So maybe just another doom rumor just like the previous ones, but if we hear about those shares being acquired by that company then things could get serious.

I dont understand why some ppl there want to sell Sony Pictures.
Spiderman movies are bring a lot of money.
Same for Venom.

The Spider-Man related movies are a new development. Before that, it was a roller coaster of success and failure (and besides big names it maybe still is). There are some terribly received movies made by them like the new Ghostbusters, Pixels, Dark Tower... Not exactly cheap to make these, they get good money from one only to lose a lot because of another. And before the new era the Andrew Garfield reboot almost killed the buzz around Spiderman. Sony is betting too much on remakes in hopes of starting a successful franchise. And until now they couldn't create a following like Disney's. Everything might be on the shoulders of the new Spider universe movies.

From Newsshooter.com
" Sony has given a sneak peek of their upcoming Xperia 1 smartphone being used as a 6.5″ 4K OLED S-Log/S-Gamut wireless monitor for the Sony VENICE. Sony was showing the Xperia 1 wirelessly monitoring live signals coming from the Sony VENICE. Not only could you wirelessly monitor images with very low latency from the Sony VENICE, but you could also do camera control and bring up the overlay screens from the camera. You could also enable different monitoring tools such as peaking, focus zoom etc. The images looked extremely impressive on the Xperia 1 and the latency was also very good. Whatever Sony have been doing the color accuracy of the images being displayed on the Xperia 1 looked almost identical to those being output from the VENICE to an expensive reference monitor. Wireless monitoring on a smartphone is nothing new, but I haven’t seen 4K images being transmitted wirelessly to a smartphone before. "
