Of course it's not the end of the world! And personally speaking I don't really mind. But SE should give some respect to their funs and leak spy photos or characteristics. For me it is not so critical because my next phone replacement will be on summer...

The thing is that the latest the announcements come the latest the release of the phones will be. All other brands have presented all or some of their high-end phones. SE is still behind, in term of announcements. Plus no spy pics or true phone characteristics....
So sad about this.....

As someone else put it - maybe doesn't want to share the stage by announcing phones the same time as others.

@goldenface, I just assumed that Elena would have HSDPA anyway.
It should be standard on all high end phones anyway.

So, assuming that Elena has HSDPA, then I'm keeping my fingers crossed for it to have GPS.

Forget Sofia, bring on Elena!

sanjeevjaya i second that! Although it should be mentioned,.. Maria Sharapova is best women tennis player in the world. So by specs Maria should be the "top noch" from SE. Probably SE meant Maria is going to be "strongest" in selling potential.

I hope that Elena will have at least P990i size of the screen, better RAM and with that also the faster phone shouldn`t be far away.

I think SE would have learnt their lesson regarding RAM. I think the chance of GPS in Elena is 50/50, but one can always hope. I don't mind waiting a couple of months extra if they are gonna put in GPS. It would be well worth the wait. Currently SE have no GPS phones. If they do put it in Elena, I'll be soo freaking happy!
Nokia already have a few GPS phones announced.

I suspect gps will make an appearance but for me too - Elena is starting to look more attractive.

A Cyber-Shot UIQ device is sounding more attractive everyday and if it looks like the photoshop that deuxani then I am sold on it.

God I can't wait.

Some highlights from the post:
"AI" - Ultra slim (9.4mm) candybar phone with metal/rubberized plastic body, Walkman 2 media player, and high-speed data capabilities.

W910 - High end flip phone w/3.2 MP camera, stereo speakers, possibly UIQ interface, similar specs to SO903i.

"Maria" - Successor to the flagship W950 Walkman phone, likely upgraded with 3.2 MP camera.

"Sofia" - Probable successor to the K790/800 Cyber-Shot phone. 5 megapixel camera to compete with Nokia N95.

"HandyCam Phone" - Slider phone with superior video recording capabilities.

"Elena" - Successor to the M600 smartphone, with Wi-Fi and a 3.2 megapixel camera.

CES (January 8-12), 3GSM (February 13-16) and CeBIT (March 15-21) are traditional venues for handset manufacturers to unveil their new goodies, so stay tuned ... 2007 promises to be a very exciting year for cutting-edge mobile technology.
