The fps will be less, itll drop more frames, might feel like playing it in slow motion although the difference between the P990 and X1 might not be all that noticeable.

Thanks for the clarification. If it's not noticeable to the naked eye then I guess I would have no issues with it.

RE: iva_se,

I hope that's not true. I've been waiting a long time for this bad boy to come out and when I read that it's coming out in mid september, I was excited. So, lets hope that that's wrong or it's only a cover-up.

And it's playing smooth as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately it doesn't seem that smooth at all. Also the person using it is having these moments after every keypress when he doesnt do anything. probablly to avoid the lag. Transitions are quite laggy also. I think this already pushes the X1 processing to the edge, at least the rom used. And this is all qualcoms last gen chipset faults. Why bring something last gen ... next january then it'll be already 2-3 generations late. This is going to be a lot of crap served for the people, distracted by the marketing opium.

Don't get me wrong, it's not SE fault. It's ours, we were born 1000 years too early.

Don't forget, he's surfing the net. A lot of the pauses I saw were typical "wait-for-the-page-to-load" pauses. Also, sections of the page off-screen had to re-render once scrolled into view. Otherwise, I have to agree that its looks pretty smooth.

Are the phones, that use the newer and better chipsets, better than X1 all-around though?

Yes they are, since this kind of "phones" can not be considered as normal phones, that should be capable of handling only the stuff already in them at the moment of purchase. I think it as a small computer, as it should be taken. Running windows mobile gives us a lot of different ways to use the "phone", but if the hardware is not flexible at all, we are also have quite capped experience with it.

My point is that, less the bottle necks, more freedom. Just the same as with desktop pcs or laptops, you dont want the one that can hardly run the OS and basic stuff, but the one that can handle much more advanced stuff. With this price range phones I think that kind of requirements should not be too unrealistic. If you are new to windows mobile devices, it could be that you would be just fine with X1, but when it comes to the stage you would like to perform something advanced you probably are feeling a little bummed with its overall performance.

When you are saying good -"all-around", you mean "ass long as it can handle the software", when I say that any next gen phone is better, i mean any phone with better chipset and hardware all-around, will be all-around better phone than X1. And that is going to happen when the nvidia powered phones are coming out. And that is not too far from the release date of X1, if it's going to be next january. We are living a big turning point in mobile phones and mobile computing. So being released 1 year after presented seems like one would be hitting the car market with chariots and horses.

@WhyBe

Come on you really can't be serious when you claim it is smooth and fast and then say

"Don't forget, he's surfing the net. A lot of the pauses I saw were typical "wait-for-the-page-to-load" pauses."

What of course his surfing the Net it's a web browser what do you expect him to do make a cup of Tea? You may be used to and expect waiting for pages to load on your P910 but those of us with newer devices certainly don't not now late 2008 we don't. That's the whole point of better browsers faster processors and HSDPA it means we get a desktop like experience on our mobile devices.

Any way Opera 9.5 is still a Beta so it will most probably improve greatly before full release and hope fully will be much faster on the X1 to.

Marc

No, that's not what I meant. I mean all-around as in the hardware design and software of the entire phone...IOW, the finished product.

I understand your point though.
