On the subject of a UK release date, I am again a little perturbed by a mailing form onestopphoneshop.co.uk, the on-line arm of CPW. Again the body of the mail which happened to be about the Nokia X6 mentions the Vivaz as coming soon. Clicking on the link about this and the HTC Desire that are listed as coming soon, brings upa page where the X10 is listed as due 01-04-2010. I hope this is sim-free? Even worse the link about it is dead.

First Carrier to announce the X10 is Indosat!
Indosat will launch this mobile during the upcoming Android Expo on March 3 to 7.

The X10 would be the best Android phone in the market when the OS 2.1 will be available, anyway do you think we have already some ROM cookers for the X10? The Hero has already a 2.1 thanks to cooked ROM but the Hero benefit from a good support of cookers community (xda)

Has it been confirmed that the X10 can be cooked?
I am disappointed that the Motorola Milestone cannot yet take a cooked ROM.
I hope SE don't use the heavy tactics that Motorola have used.

I dont believe on any update to 2.1 sooner than 5 or 6 months after X10 release.
Look at x10 mini and mini pro... when they going to be release? 3 or 4 months away? What version of android they will still running? (1.6)
Makes any sense they release a phone with a outdated android version to update them only 1 or 2 months after they released? NO!
By the time the give us the update to 2.1 im sure there will be better android devices on the market or even a new android version

If the X10 can be rooted cooker could easily take the Desire or N1 ROM and flash it on the X10,but of course it's too soon to know, the Satio doesn't have yet cooked roms while the OmniaHD had a few weeks after its release. Cookers are not SE fans unfortunetly

sealover i dont think that the phone will be outdated but its for sure a bad move by SE. They could have turn this phone to a true winner, but instead it will be one more among the others top android phones. If it wasnt for the color limitation, multitouch and wallpaper animation i wanst worried about the update to 2.1, but these are very important features in my opinion and i can have it on other phones such as HTC Desire (That for sure will be out first than X10 update... or even at the same time X10 is released by the look of things): In my country HTC takes about 3 times less to release a phone than SE

@miguel82
Yeah but for other people the 8.0MP cam is as important, as is having the largest screen possible, everyones preferences and requirements are different so if people choose to purchase the X10 then they have their own personal reasons for doing so.
I have not seen one person in this thread say that the X10 is the
'ultimate phone' because it is not and there is no such thing as the ultimate phone.
Every phone has its limitations and there will always be another phone that will trump it, in some feature or another, just around the corner. For your requirements you wouldn't consider the Nexus One as that has the number of same screen colours as the X10 - personally I don't see how that is a limitation.
People choose where they spend their money and that is no-one elses business but their own.

Thats why i say its a mistake from SE... hardware is very good ... software is good but it could have been even better if they werent so stupid.
Imagine how much X10 they will sell if it comes with android 2.1 and at the same time that motorola and google released their phones. SE will lose some precious costumers to the competition by doing this but thats their problem not mine. I have no interest in X10 camara since i will keep my Satio too and i will buy the phone who offers me the things that Satio´s missing: Good user experience.
I think X10 will be fine on that but i wont buy it if there is anything better with the same price
