Isn't operating loss their biggest? Op doesn't sell through stores right? Do they even give in-country warranty everywhere? Google also does only flagships and in limited availability. It was a question of 'despite lower sales why Google and op don't loose that much / think of closing down.' so I suggested that it might be a scale/volume issue. At this point nobody has it easy, even Sam profits were down if I'm not mistaken.

My bet is on tof (face scanner/depth mapper) or aube 2.0 (this includes new rgbw sensor too) but if ifa won't exceed X1 any new thing is unlikely imo.

Advertisement of screen is being very strong.
They put phone side by side with Bravia Oled to show that is almost on pair with a high level tv.
About eye AF ... I watched many demonstrations and looks like it works pretty well.
The % of photos in focus is very very high. Girls was moving a lot, turning around and moving her head.
Not 100% like A9 ( only thing on Earth that can do it).
Honestly, the tracking is faster than Canon EOS R ... 🤭🤭🤭🤭

Yes because they actually showed what it can do. Screen looks good. I'm most impressed with the low light video stabilization. If they can do that in 4k too that'll be awesome. Eye af is unnecessary imo. Tracking is a different thing. It's great that it can do 10fps with af and exposure.

Well now this is BS! Even the 10s have great video. And 1's stabilization is top notch. How can it be weak? Because the default is 4k HDR? How stupid is that?

This phone had obligation to score at least 95 for video.
Between Z and XZ, Sony used to have the best video recording.
I dont know how the 4k24 HDR HLG of xz2/xz3 looks on a great HDR screen.
But regular 4K30 SDR is no longer the best.
Like a always say, OIS does not help videos.
Turn EIS off and you can see it, also check the 4K60 of other brands..
DxO said on the review of Z5 that back then SteadyShot was far ahead of competition.
Competition was S6 Edge+, Iphone 6s+ and G4 ... All of them have OIS.
X Perf and XZ also had better score of stabilization than other brands.
OIS of 1 is just to make shutter slower and less ISO on Auto Superior ..
The photo score must be similar or better than S10 5G but worse video score.
Final score is (photo + photo + video)/3
Selfie does not count .

It should at least be better than mi 9. I mean come on. And vid has always been Xperia's strong side. Sometimes being even better than still performance. Adjusts exposure smoothly, has tracking, good color etc and the presentation shows top notch stabilization. P30P's red video has high score on color. How can Xperia has weak video score. Doesn't make sense to me. Guess 20 days later we'll know. I was expecting 1 to be around the level of S10, 109 points Mi has 107 XS 105. I'm afraid it'll be around that 105. That's so last year. But maybe considering they scrapped XZ4 and started from scratch it's still good what they did in this short time.

Must be FHD 30.
Mi9 uses 4K as default because they knew score was going to be higher.
Fun fact is the units sold of Mi9 come set FHD 30. Only the one sent to DxO had 4K.
Still there is no excuse, other phones set FHD score more than 90 for video.
I bet the weak points are:
- video: exposure and AF
- photos : exposure ( HDR does not show up everytime needed) , focus and flash
Actually it was impossible to be #1, because:
1) Huawei has huge score of bokeh (ToF) and Zoom (periscope), s10 also has huge score of bokeh (ToF).
2) Both have HDR for auto and set as default.
3) S10 5G has 4K as default
No Tof, no periscope, no dual LED flash .... The score of Exposure/Contrast, Colour, AF, Artifacts , texture and noise need to be much higher to even the battle ...
