It resides somewhere in between the standard UI and the likes of Touchwiz and Sense UI..

It's not all bad of course.. Going with light customization may reduce the bugs and the lags as well as enable SE to give the respective updates in faster rates..
Still, it might not appeal to the majority out there..
However, I agree it could come also to individual tastes and priorities..



I'm aware of this new hype about the processor speeds.. Similar to that of the MP race..
However, this shares with the MP race only one thing: Given too much attention and shouldn't be the main standard to rank the smartphones upon.

However, unlike the MP count which is even a secondary factor in defining the quality of a cameraphone, and even has bad consequences the more it higher it goes, processor speeds don't!

Only concern is battery usage. But it is confirmed that with the right optimization the dual core is more efficient than a single core..
Other than that, as said, there may be no optimized software right now for such hardware, but it wont stay long like this!
In two years time, even the 1.2 dual cores would be outdated and not enough to run the software then!
Same concept as with laptops..



Here we go:
- Super AMOLED Plus > LED-backlit LCD
- 16 GB > 320MB internal memory!! (Even if there is an 8GB SD card included with the arc)
- 1GB RAM > 512 MB!!!
- 1650 mAh > 1500 mAh
- 1080 HD > 720 HD (not important)
- Bluetooth 3.0 > 2.1 (not important)
- Mali-400MP > Adreno 205
- 1.2 GHz Dual Core Exynos > 1 GHz single core Scorpion
- Supports all media formats (video and audio) > doesn't support all formats (not sure but does the Arc support DivX/XviD?)

That's not to mention the Arc's issues and missing features that aren't there on the SGII:
- No Gyroscope, NFC (not important), USB OTG!, front facing camera (Come on! The SGII has 2MP one!!), bad positioning of the camera and headset jack, and despite the hype SE made about the camera sensor, the SGII is on par with it..

The Arc wins on the design, and that it has a camera shutter button althoug it's too small and replaced awkwardly at the very end of the phone!

Again, the Arc will be like 100 to 150€ cheaper, so it's all up for the user to decide.



I might get the SGII but just to test it! Not a fan of the design at all nor of the UI..
And unless Samsung stop copying and start to innovate they'll stay by my standards all cheap Korean products!
Same story with HTC and their crappy hardware..

I'll just stick to Nokia and SE prodcuts and nothing seem to change for me soon..

One can't deny though that Samsung are offering the top Android devices in the market right now..
