Just got my Hermes.....I got the orange version m3100 which is pretty much identical to the TYtn but i like the styling of the m3100 better.

Must say what a great phone ...love it so far.....Think the p990's going back Just too basic for me for how much it cost.

I got this for virtually half the price and it does loads more...Just gotta try and unbrand it to get rid of the orange branding.

Just thought I should post some pics of my baby...loving it everyday... the HSDPA really comes in handy especially with streaming radio stations at 192Kbps right up to 320Kbps no problem

Here are some pics of my brown/grey LTD edition only available at select shops in Taiwan...

I think the TyTn is slowly winning me over.
It's just like what Masseur said about SE taking two steps forwards but one step backwards.

The TyTNn is fuctionally is what the P990 could have been, I mean it doesn't compare to the TyTn technology wise, and it costs more.

Again, the memory card issue is annoying, I've got so many duo sticks, buying different memory will just bring the price of owning a TyTn up.

I really need both of them in my had at the same time, although nor sure how to go abouts doing this? donations anybody? tee hee hee

its strange that people are saying the TyTN costs more because here in UK its £100 less, i.e. £500 vs £600

The move to transflash annoyed me too, as it did moving from full size SD on the JAM to mini SD on the k-jam. I see no real need for it at all in a device that can easily provide the space for the standard size SD.

However, I've now got a 2gb transflash in my TyTN so I'm sort of happy again with quite a few music videos and lots of music

I agree with you! not sure why people think the TyTn costs more.....maybe is because they have looked at the specs and seen the TyTn is more advanced thus thinking it's more expensive.

I'm just looking for a M3100 at the mo, trying to find a good deal, the 18 month one's look really good, although there is no way I'm commiting to an 18 month contract.

Anyone found any good deals for the M3100 on contract (12 month) & for a memory card for it preferably a 2GB one.

After a full week of using the Vodafone v1605 (TYTN), I decided to return it. I think it is a great phone/pda, but it was just a little too heavy. I have had the p800, p900, and now the p910, and they are all aroudn 155 grams while the TYTN is about 180 grams. I know that this is not a substantial difference, but for some reason it felt as if the weight had crossed the line of acceptability to me. It is also slightly bulkier than I would have liked.

Nonetheless, the keyboard works very well, and it was a pleasure to type on it. I found it very easy to write while walking. I also tired Skype Mobile, and it works well.

I think I wil l probably get a p990 once the bugs have been ironed out. Also, I wonder if HTC will come out with a version of the TYTN without the keyboard so that it is sleamer and lighter (like the jamin). Does any of have any idea on this?

I respect the choice you have made for yourself but having just held my P990 in one hand and the TyTN in the other I am hard pressed to tell the difference, despite the quoted 25g you mention.

The keyboard on the TyTN is alot of the attraction for me and although I have had numerous windows mobile/pocket pc devices without a keyboard I couldn't imagine having one now without a keyboard. I thought it was incredible moving from the JAM to the K-JAM having the same isze package but with the slide out keyboard. I never did like those plug in keyboard accessories.

@ Timmmmy

I've had a M3100 for a week

Orange Business Plan £22 per month (£11 per month for 6months)
120 mins (if you want more mins the handset gets cheaper)
handset £49
Free Orange Care

just working out which data bundle to add on

Love it

Been hanging around since Jaunuary for the p990i - checking every week and lately daily. I saw this thread and made my decision!

I love it

availability of software swung it for me!

Killer Aps TomTom, Memory Map, Microfsoft Money.

I have been eagerly awaiting my P990 and with all the goings on am starting to wonder if should swing the TyTN way. Have however not found a site that goes into much detail, esp pics of TYTN in use, it's UI, ETC.
All you see is the lime green smoothy doing a vid call.

anyone have URLs giving the kind of detail SE does?

....also, I already have the HCB-700 car handsfree bluetooth installed.

Anyone know if it works propoerly with the TyTN? If so, does it work with all features like address book?
