Hi. I am from SG and I got the blue-grey version of the w580i from a contract renewal. Had the phone for a couple of weeks. Everything seemed to work fine at first but now it is giving me this piss-me-off issue.

Sometimes in sleep mode(screen totally black), I could not activate the screen whether by sliding the phone back n forth or pushing any of the navigating or keypad buttons. These actions did turn on the blue-green lighting on the navi keys and keypad but the screen just stayed black. Not sure if there is anything wrong with the hardware or software but it sure is frustrating when you need to use the phone but it can't wake up from sleep. Could take up to 3-5mins before getting lucky and seeing the screen alive again..kns

Reading and agreeing with other users of the same phone model, I noted:

- the silvery paint on the navi key is starting to peel. Navi key n volume button is made of cheapo plastic

- no setting to turn off sleep mode

- can't seem to perform Shake function to shuffle songs

- have not encountered broken keypad yet..

So.. potential buyers of this phone model pls take note..

btw i tested out my friend's N95 sound quality.. appears to be better-sounding than my w580i. Friggin' impressed esp when paired with a good sony earphone ^^"

Hi guys. I really like the phone and I think its time to update from my K750i. I want to know a few things before I decide to buy it though.
1. Does it have an FM radio
2. Is the speaker volume louder than the K750i
3. Is the headset volume louder.

The volume was a big dissapointment with the K750i and it really is bad when compared to the volumes on the nokia 6230i
Are the sound volumes any better on this one?
Thanks

One more question. I want to use this as a dedicated mp3 player as well so that I can get rid of my ipod. How easy is it to transfer music to the phone through itunes and whats the battery life like?

Can you get the phone to update itself via the playlists or will it just be drag and drop?

hello
well, I have finally bought a grey w580 and it has a bit of loose slide on the left bottom corner.there is the possibility of exchange, as the salesgirla is nice and knows me from other sales....it is very little.Am afraid of changhing it and get a new one after all the input of pictures, music, games.....
should I change it?
do you think it will go worse? the sofware is R6B002 generic, unlocked, made in Malasya
