I've been extensively using WLAN+RSS+Opera (+FM radio which I didn't dare use before with this combination) for some time now. Before I would get a kern-exec 50% of the time I had to call up Opera from within RSS. After the update despite all my attempts I got no kern-exec from Opera. I'm finally beginning to be satisfied with my phone. The major problem remaining for me is camera auto focus. That still has a long way to go as far as improvements are concerned.
The only kern-exec I got was while using AgileMessenger over GPRS, but I don't think that is relevant really, probably related to AgileMessenger. I have the feeling that overall I finally have a stable and usable phone now. If SE keeps this up I may retire my P900 after the next update

the same as in FC. Just open the phone, and once you see the virtual keyboard, just do up * down down * down * .

Zou can use the jog dial to get to the service menu aswell

you should ONLY use the jog dial for this. It might work with the keyboard, but it does not make sense. also, this service menu does not kick in all the times, even though you have hit the right combo of jog dial moves and *. it has something to do with the timing between the moves and strokes as well. At least this is my experience.
so keep trying. you will eventually get it.
