Is the QVGA video rec in 3gpp?
Hope it is not as 3gpp is crap quality compare to Mpeg. QVGA 3gpp is unwatchable on in TV / PC full screen mode unlike mpeg.
MP4 and 3GP are just the containers. That means shit. It could be H264 or H263 video. Im guessing its the same as the W900.
And its QVGA so its bound to look shit on a tv or pc.

Finally SE listens to North America - a quad-band phone with 3-band 3G, it took them long enough but at least now we have it, errr, will have it. I guess my HTC TyTN will have to last me until this wonder comes out. The TyTN has pretty much everything covered (includes b/g Wifi too) but its camera and flash are rather pathetic (don't get me started on Windows Mobile either!)

@all
Here's what I know:
- The K850 will probably record in 3GP, but fortunately you can see that the audio codec is AAC. The K850 has been seen to be able to record in MPEG in the labs, but that's only in the labs, so don't think that it will have MPEG recording.
- The panorama mode will remain at 2MP for the time being.
As people have said, the bitrate is just as important as the codec though.

Excellent, Sony Ericsson!!! Superb!! A true world phone!
But maybe a bit too heavy: 118 grams.
About design... it's a matter of taste. Let's wait and see how it looks in real life.

118g sounds heavy but as long as the overall phone is small then I think it gives the impression of a well built, solid phone.
Great design and I know I will like even better in the flesh.

224KB for 4 seconds of video, so that works out at over 3MB per minute, that should be pretty decent quality.

yep...thats correct...on my W900 a 4 sec video has around 60 kb...so yes...it seems that it has preety good bitrate...nice to see that
